Payment methods are the options your staff choose from when taking a payment at the POS. An administrator sets them up in the Back Office before your team can use them. For taking payments at the till, see Payment & Checkout.
⚙️ Where to configure them
In the Back Office, open the company's Payment and taxes settings. The Offline Payment tab is where you build the list of methods your staff record manually — cash, coupons, gift cards, third-party delivery payments, and so on.
➕ Adding a payment method
Preconfigured method — pick a ready-made method from the list (for example Cash, Interac/Debit, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, Credit Card, Coupon, Loyalty, Gift Card, Gift Certificate, Deposit Redeem, Voucher Redeem, Uber Eats, Doordash, UEAT, Skip, Offline PATT) and press Add.
Custom method — type your own name for a method that isn't in the preset list, then press Add. The custom name has a character limit shown next to the field.
🛠️ Managing your methods
Each method you add appears in the Offline payment methods list, where you can:
Control | What it does |
Activate / deactivate | The checkbox next to the method turns it on or off. Only active methods are available to staff. |
Disable printing on payment | When enabled for a method, taking a payment with it does not automatically print a receipt. |
Reorder | Drag a method by its handle to change the order of the list. |
Remove | Use the remove button on a row to delete that method from the list. |
Press Save when you're done.
💡 Good to know
A separate Taxes tab on the same screen is where tax groups and tax numbers are assigned.
Tips, gratuities, and service charges are configured in their own Back Office areas, not on this screen.
