How do I view asset details?

Navigation: Open your Field Service workspace, then select Assets from the sidebar. Click on any asset to open the detail view.

General Information tab

The General Information tab displays:

  • Asset Image: Visual reference for the asset

  • Serial Number: Unique identifier for the asset

  • Company: The company the asset is assigned to

  • QR Code Icon: Appears if QR code access is enabled

  • Custom Fields: All custom fields configured in Settings

  • Description: Details about the asset (visible to customers if a portal is issued)

History tab

The History tab shows:

  • All work orders created for the asset, listed chronologically from newest to oldest

  • Work orders from all companies the asset has been assigned to

  • The asset creation date

Documentation tab

The Documentation tab contains two sections:

  • External Documents: Visible to customers if a portal is issued. Use this for manuals, specifications, or other documents you want to share.

  • Internal Documents: Visible only to your internal team. Use this for private notes or internal reference materials.

To upload documents:

  1. Click the + icon in the External or Internal Documents section.

  2. Select Upload from the dropdown.

  3. Choose Browse your device to upload files or Select Folders to upload entire folders.

  4. Click Upload.

For assets created from a product, adding new documents will disconnect the documentation from the product. Changes made to the product will not reflect on the asset unless you reconnect it.

Sub Assets tab

This tab is visible if you have the hierarchy add-on enabled.

  • Displays all sub-assets belonging to the asset, showing image, name, number of sub-assets, and serial number

  • Click + Assign Sub Asset to assign new sub-assets

  • Select sub-assets from the popup (only unassigned assets appear)

  • Click the Unassign icon to remove a sub-asset

  • Click an asset to view its details, or click the arrow to view its sub-assets

Parts tab

The Parts tab shows:

  • All parts assigned to the asset, displaying part image, name, description, and article number

  • Click + Add New Part to assign parts from your inventory

  • Select multiple parts at once from the popup

  • Click the Unassign icon to remove a part from the asset
