How to Edit or Delete Assets

Learn how to edit asset details or delete assets in Makula Field Service.

How do I edit an asset?

Navigation: Open your Field Service workspace, then select Assets from the sidebar.

  1. Click on the asset you want to edit to open the detail view.

  2. Click directly on the field you want to update (such as name, description, or custom fields).

  3. Make your changes.

  4. Click the checkmark icon or click outside the field to save.

Changes are recorded in the Activity Log for transparency.


What fields can I edit?

You can edit:

  • Asset Name

  • Serial Number

  • Description

  • Asset Type

  • Company assignment

  • Custom Fields

  • Documentation (upload or remove files)

  • Sub-asset assignments

  • Part assignments


How do I delete an asset?

Method 1: Delete from the Assets page

  1. Go to Assets in your Field Service workspace.

  2. Locate the asset you want to delete.

  3. Click the bin icon next to the asset.

  4. Confirm deletion in the modal.

Method 2: Delete from the Asset detail view

  1. Open the asset you want to delete.

  2. Click the ellipsis (three dots) in the top right corner.

  3. Select Delete Asset.

  4. Confirm deletion in the modal.


Can I recover a deleted asset?

No. Deleting an asset is permanent and cannot be undone. All associated data, including work order history linked to that asset, will be affected. Make sure you have selected the correct asset before confirming deletion.
