What is Hierarchy View?

Hierarchy View displays your assets in a nested structure, showing parent-child relationships between assets. This helps you visualise complex equipment with multiple levels of sub-assets.

How do I access Hierarchy View?

Navigation: Open your Field Service workspace, then select Assets from the sidebar. Click the Hierarchy View tab at the top of the page.

How does Hierarchy View work?

Assets are displayed in a nested format showing their relationships:

  • Parent assets appear at the top level

  • Sub-assets are indented beneath their parent

  • Click the arrow next to an asset to expand or collapse its sub-assets

  • Drill down through multiple levels to view detailed sub-asset structures

What information is displayed?

Each asset in the hierarchy shows:

  • Asset Image

  • Asset Name

  • Serial Number

  • Number of sub-assets (if any)

  • Asset Type

How do I navigate Hierarchy View?

Search and Filter:

  • Use the Search Bar to find assets by name or serial number

  • Use the Filter By dropdown to filter by asset type, team, or other criteria

Expand and Collapse:

  • Click the arrow next to an asset to view its sub-assets

  • Collapse levels to focus on higher-level assets

Add or Edit Assets:

  • Click + Add Asset to add a new asset to the hierarchy

  • Click the ellipsis (three dots) next to an asset to edit, delete, or perform other actions

When should I use Hierarchy View?

Hierarchy View is useful when:

  • Managing complex equipment with multiple components

  • Understanding relationships between parent assets and sub-assets

  • Navigating large asset structures quickly
