Overview

Maxanet's Contacts page is a built-in bulk email tool for sending messages to large lists of users without relying on a third-party service. The Contacts page is independent from your main Users/Bidder list — deleting email addresses from the Contacts cart does not delete bidders from the Users page. This article covers the Contacts page menu options, how to import contacts, how to create an email template, and how to send a bulk email.

Overview of the Contacts page menu options

  • Search — search the list of email addresses currently in the cart

  • Group Actions — select specific email addresses already in your cart to delete or email

  • Add — manually add an email address to the email cart

  • Filter — filter by Subscribed vs Unsubscribed contacts

  • Export — download the existing email cart into an Excel file

  • Delete All — remove all emails from the cart (empty the cart)

  • Email All — send a bulk email to every address in the cart (the recommended button for bulk sends)

  • Import — import email addresses from your User list, from an Excel file, or from a specific auction

Prerequisite: create a Custom Email template

Before sending a bulk email, create an email template under Admin → Configurations → Email Templates. Click the Add button, give the template a Custom Emails category, and save. The subject line and body of the template can be edited before each bulk send, so one saved template can serve multiple different campaigns.

How to import contacts into the email cart

On the Contacts page, click the black Import button. You have three import options:

  • Import from Excel Sheet — use the Sample Template to get the required column format, then upload your own Excel file

  • Import from User List — pull emails from your existing Maxanet Users (bidders, consignors)

  • Import from Auction — pull emails from bidders who participated in a specific auction

How to send a bulk email with Email All

Once contacts are imported and you have a saved Custom Email template, click the Email All button at the top of the Contacts page. A pop-up opens letting you choose the email template, edit the subject line and body for this specific send, and then send to every address in the cart. The saved template is not modified by edits made at send time — only this particular send is affected.

How contacts in the cart relate to your Users list

The Contacts cart is independent from the Users page. Deleting an email from the Contacts cart does not delete the corresponding bidder or their email address from Users. Treat the cart as a temporary mailing list — rebuild it from Import each time you want to send a different campaign to a different audience.

Common questions

Is the Contacts cart the same as the Users list?

No. Contacts is a temporary mailing-list cart. Deleting from Contacts does not affect the Users page. Import fresh into the cart each time you want to send to a different audience.

Where do I create the email template for bulk sends?

Admin → Configurations → Email Templates. Choose Custom Emails as the category when creating the template.

Can I import contacts from a specific auction's bidders?

Yes. The Import menu includes Import from Auction, which pulls bidders who participated in that auction into the cart.

Can I filter contacts by subscribed vs unsubscribed?

Yes. The Filter button on the Contacts page has a Subscribed vs Unsubscribed toggle. Unsubscribed contacts are excluded from bulk sends by default.

How do I remove all contacts from the cart without deleting users?

Click Delete All on the Contacts page. This empties the cart but does not affect the main Users list — your bidders and consignors remain registered.
