How long does it take for a session to start?

Charging sessions with Mbrella Charge usually start right away, but app updates might be delayed.

Immediate Start in Most Cases: In general, charging sessions should start almost immediately after you initiate them through the Mbrella Charge app or by using your charging pass.

It's important to note that while charging typically begins immediately, there might be a slight delay in seeing the session reflected in the app. This is because some Charge Point Operators may not immediately share session updates, which can affect how quickly the session appears in your Mbrella Charge app.


In some rare cases, there might be a delay if there are issues with authentication or communication between systems. If a session doesn't start within a couple of minutes, it may indicate a problem.

Better to then reach out to the customer support of the charging stations.

Most charging stations have a customer support phone number or email displayed on the unit. Look for a sticker or a screen that provides contact details.

  • The Charge Point Operator (CPO) sends a signal to start charging.

  • The charging station begins delivering power to your vehicle.
