Steps
1. Navigate to Products In Meadow Admin, select Products from the left navigation bar. Filter by Active, Inactive, or Archived status across the top. Search by name, brand, vendor, strain type, or sale status. Filter by category in the left sidebar. Click Create Product in the upper right to add a new product.
2. Enter product details Start with a clear, descriptive product name. For weight-based products, include the weight increment -- "Blue Dream (Sativa) 3.5G" for example. Select a brand (must be created first). Add a subcategory and tag if relevant. Set Menu Display Unit to Gram for flower, Item for everything else. Set Active if the product is ready to sell; Inactive keeps it in your catalog but hidden from sale. Toggle Featured to push it to the top of your menu.
3. Set pricing Set Amount to 1 for all products except flower. For flower, match the weight per unit (3.5 for an eighth, 1 for a gram). Enter the retail selling price and an optional sale price. Fill in Cannabis Content -- this is how Meadow calculates purchase limit compliance. Add a product photo if you have one.
4. Set inventory type
Pricing Option (Recommended) -- tracks unit counts. Use for most products.
No Inventory Tracking -- for low-value non-cannabis items like stickers or lanyards.
The inventory type can only be changed before inventory is received. Once stock is added, this setting is locked.
5. Set compliance status
Compliant Track and Trace -- for all cannabis products. Reports changes to Metrc.
No Tracking -- for accessories and non-cannabis items.
6. Copy an existing product Open an existing product and use Copy Product. All details carry over -- update only what is different. Fastest way to add variants or similar SKUs.
7. Import from Weedmaps Use the Import from Weedmaps button, search by brand, find the product, and click Import. Meadow pulls in the name, brand, description, and photo. You still need to set your price and confirm remaining details before the product goes live.
Tips
Set up all brands before creating products. You cannot assign a brand that does not already exist.
Always include weight increments in flower product names to avoid confusion at POS and on your menu.
The inventory type is permanent once inventory is received. Double-check before your first purchase order against a new product.
Cannabis Content is required for purchase limit compliance -- do not skip it.
