How can I set up Low Inventory thresholds and notifications?

Set low inventory notifications to help keep products in stock and know when something is running low.

Setting Low Inventory Threshold Quantities

Want to make sure you always have the right amount of a product in stock? Use low inventory notifications to help keep track and facilitate re-ordering.

  • When viewing a product, navigate to its "Inventory" tab and scroll down.

  • Below Inventory Transactions you will see "Inventory Thresholds," where you will be able to set a par level per product option.

Select the option from the drop-down list and set the Threshold Amount.

  • When the quantity in inventory drops below this number (e.g. 29 or fewer in the image above), it will flag the option as "Low."

Viewing Inventory Status

By default, you will see a status of either "OK" (meaning at least one unit in stock) or "Out" for each option when viewing the Inventory list in Admin.

  • Once you have set up an inventory threshold for an option, a third status is added, "Low." This status will show any time a product option drops below the threshold set.

Filtering to only show low stock options

  • When viewing the Inventory list, you can also filter to view only those options that currently have a status of "Low" (based off the thresholds you have created).

Low Inventory Notifications

If you want to receive low inventory email notifications when an option drops below the par level, set Notify to "Yes" and add one or more email addresses to Inventory Threshold Notifications (in Settings under Notifications).

NOTE:

  • You will only receive one low inventory notification every 12 hours per option. For example, if an option drops below par after a sale and then that order is cancelled (putting back above par), a subsequent order 10 minutes later bringing that option back below par again would not trigger another email.
