Sometimes vape cartridges malfunction or a customer isn't happy with their purchase. It happens. If you accept returns and exchanges of your products, you can process them in POS or Admin (below):
Returns/Exchanges Using POS (iOS app)
To process a return or exchange in POS, click the Orders button in the top right corner.
Select Fulfilled Orders, search for the customer's name, or order number (on receipt)
Select the correct order and Start Return
Select Return Type (Return or Exchange)
Use Exchange only when a product is replaced with exactly the same product. Otherwise use Return.
Select an Inventory Action
Is the returned item going to be thrown away (Waste), put back in stock (Inventory) or returned to the wholesaler (Vendor)?
Due to DCC regulations, cannabis products that have been sold can't be returned to inventory. The Inventory action can be used on non-metrc tracked products.
Click the item(s) being returned and fill in the 5 fields, starting with Quantity to be returned.
Enter a Reason
Why is the customer returning the item?
Select Refund Type
None, Payment Method or Store Credit. If you have multiple payment types, select the form of refund (e.g. cash or card). Store Credit will be added to the customer's profile and applied automatically to subsequent sales.
Check the dollar values and make sure the amounts are correct.
After you have completed your selections from the required fields, you will see the dollar amount to be returned calculated at the bottom (Refund Final Total).
Refund Subtotal shows the retail price of the product(s) being returned.
Below that Credits and Discounts will show if any credit or discount was used in this order. These amounts will be subtracted from a refund, so if you want to refund a customer for a credit or discount, use adjustments.
If you include Tax in the price of your products, the amount of tax on the returned item(s) will be displayed here but will not influence the total. If tax was not included in the original purchase/transaction...
Adjustments are optional and can be made using the bottom field. If you want to increase the discount, enter the amount and select subtract (e.g. -$11.40); if you need to decrease the discount, select add.
Now you're ready to finalize the Return/Exchange!

Select the correct order.

You must enter a reason for a product return/exchange.

Ready to complete the Return/Exchange!
After you have completed your selections from these fields, you will see the dollar amount to be returned calculated at the bottom (Refund Final Total).
Refund Subtotal shows the entire retail value of the product(s) being returned.
Below that Credits and Discounts will show if any credit or discount was used in this order (these amounts will be subtracted from a refund).
If you include Tax in the price of your products, the amount of tax on the returned item(s) will be displayed here but will not influence the total. If tax was not included in the original purchase/transaction...
Adjustments can be made using the bottom field. If you want to increase the discount, enter a negative number (e.g. -$5); if you need to decrease the discount, enter a positive number ($5).
In the example below, -$11.40 has been entered as an adjustment to refund a discount on the order (e.g. if the discount applied to another item in the order and not the returned one).
Refund Final Total is the amount, if any, to be refunded to the customer (in the form selected above: cash, card purchase or store credit).
When you have entered all the information and are ready to process the return/exchange, click Create Return/Exchange. You will see a summary like the one below.
