Is the Luma Eye-Safe?

Written by Atilio Valderrama

Your pet's safety and your own comfort are our top priorities.

Laser and Light Classification

The Luma is independently certified as a Class 1 light device. This means that under all normal, everyday operating conditions, the light output remains safe and specialized medical eye-protection goggles are not required for you or your pet.

Practical Safety Rules

While the device is completely safe for standard use, you should still practice common-sense caution:

  • Never look or stare directly into the active light-emitting diodes at close range for long periods.

  • Do not shine the active light path directly into your pet's eyes.

  • If your pet's custom protocol involves treating conditions near the head, muzzle, ears, or face, always consult your clinician via the top-left app chat to map out a safe and comfortable placement pattern.
