Welcome to MedcoVet! We're thrilled to partner with you in the journey of healing your beloved four-legged family member. This guide will walk you through the steps to effectively use the MedcoVet Luma device for your pet's treatment.

Unboxing the Luma Device

Upon receiving your MedcoVet Luma device, you'll find it securely packed in a hard case with zip ties. To access the device:

1. Cut the zip ties.

2. Inside the case, you'll find:

- The handheld Luma device.

- A step-by-step instruction card.

- The Luma charger.

- A plastic spacer attachment (for treating wounds).

- Zip ties for securing the Luma when returning.

Ensure you store all these components safely, especially if you're renting the Luma, as you'll need to return it in the same packaging.

Charging the Luma Device

Before using the Luma:

1. Connect the AC adapter power cord to a wall socket.

2. Plug the DC end of the charger into the Luma device.

3. The charging indicator will blink during charging and turn solid once fully charged.

4. Only use the provided AC adapter to charge the Luma.

Preparing for Treatment

Before starting the treatment:

1. Inform your veterinary care provider if your pet has specific conditions or if you're treating sensitive areas.

2. The Luma can be used with or without the supplied spacer. For surface wounds, attach the spacer to the device.

Using the Luma Device

1. Turn on the Luma by pressing and holding the power button for two seconds.

2. Set the treatment time by clicking the power button. Each click increases the time by 30 seconds, up to a maximum of three minutes.

3. Place the Luma on the treatment area, ensuring the comb sits flush against your pet's skin.

4. Press the start/stop treatment button to begin. The green LED lights indicate the remaining treatment time.

5. Once done, power off the device by pressing and holding the power button.

Safety and Maintenance

- The Luma is classified as risk group 0, meaning it's safe for skin and eyes when used correctly. However, never point it directly at eyes.

- The device is strictly for animal use and not intended for humans.

- Clean the Luma monthly or when noticeably dirty using a 70% alcohol wipe.

Returning the Luma Device

If you've completed the recommended treatments and need to return the Luma:

1. Contact your clinician to close the case.

2. Print the prepaid return shipping label sent via email.

3. Ensure all components are in the box.

4. Secure the box with zip ties.

5. Drop off the package at FedEx and obtain a shipping receipt.
