The calendar in the media overview provides a visual overview of all your planned entries, across various media types, allowing you to see how activities are distributed over a defined period. This is distinct from the sheet view, which is where you do the actual planning and enter your planning data.

You can customize your calendar to give you and your team quick insights into your planning.

The calendar can be viewed at three different levels of observation:

  • At the parent level, in the Media Overview section, the calendar view and sheet view will source data from all subsidiary accounts and plans

  • At the subsidiary level, in the Media Overview section, the calendar view and sheet view will source data from all plans within the account

  • At the plan level, in the Media Plan, the calendar view will source data only from the individual plan you are viewing

How to adjust the calendar view

In the calendar view, you can customize how your planning data, added in the sheet view, is displayed.

To manage your calendar view setting, follow these steps:

  1. Access Settings: Click on the cogwheel located in the top left corner of the calendar view to open the settings menu.

  2. Set Visibility: Choose whether the calendar view should be Public, accessible to everyone in your organization, or Private, visible only to you.

  3. You can control the Calendar view, based on the following factors:

    1. Layout: select whether you'd like a flat or hierarchical layout

    2. Sort order: select whether you'd like to sort your rows by chronological start date or by alphabetical title

    3. Timeline preference: select the scale of your timeline

    4. Grain: select the specific time increments you want to split your media data by. If no grain is chosen, it will default to the time periods set for each line item in the planning sheet view

    5. Additional Measures: select numerical and text fields that summarize the data within your chosen hierarchy. Once set, you can choose to increase or decrease the size of the measure column by dragging and dropping the edges of the column.

    6. Bar measures: select measures that you want to view for each media entry that is represented by different bars in the timeline.

    7. Hierarchy: select the grouping(s) you'd like for the planning data displayed on the timeline. Add multiple to create a dropdown sub-hierarchy.

Bookmarking Your Calendar View

Click on the star icon located above the settings to bookmark your configured view. This feature allows you to create and save multiple customized views, enabling you to quickly switch between them and access specific data as needed.

Filter visible data

You can use the filter option above your calendar view to select specific data you want to include or exclude from the calendar view. To exclude data, click on the green option 'Include' that appears after adding a filter, and change it to 'Exclude'.

Export Data from the Calendar View

You can easily export the data displayed in the calendar view to a PDF. Here’s how:

  1. Prepare Your View: The export will capture exactly what you see on your screen. If you want to include details from lower levels of your planning in the export, make sure to expand these sections using the arrow next to each level.

    Expand calendar view
  2. Locate Export Button: Find the 'Export' button located above your timeline on the right side.

  3. Add Notes (Optional): Before exporting, you have the option to add notes to your plan for additional context or information.

  4. Export Data: Click on 'Export view to PDF'. This action will generate a PDF containing all the planned data, formatted just as it appears in the calendar view.
