The Relevance Filter in Mentionlytics helps you prioritize the most impactful mentions by assessing their relevance to your keyword trackers.
This makes it easier to focus on mentions that need immediate attention and response.
The system automatically assigns a Relevance level to your mentions based on complex criteria, and that usually depends on source and keyword complexity.
By default, the relevance is set to "Normal," which shows the most relevant mentions for your keywords or criteria. If you want to see more results, including those that may be less relevant, select the "All" option. This will loosen the filter and display a broader range of mentions.
Relevance Levels
Each mention can be marked as:
High
Normal
Low
Irrelevant
Spam
Filter Settings
You can filter mentions using these options:
All - Shows all mentions regardless of relevance
Low - Shows mentions marked as Low, Irrelevant, or Spam Relevance
Normal - Shows mentions marked as High or Normal (default setting)
Strict - Shows only mentions marked as High Relevance
How Relevance is Determined
The system assigns relevance based on these general rules:
Normal relevance: The mention contains your keyword
Strict relevance: The keyword is complex (uses positive/negative terms or 'OR' operators)
Low relevance: The mention doesn't contain positive keywords, contains negative keywords, or doesn't meet country/language restrictions
This is the generic philosophy but always depends on the source and the case.
You can always change the Relevance assigned to a specific mention, manually or in bulk.
