Can I Ban a Profile or a Website?

Learn how to ban a profile or website from your results, so you stop collecting mentions from them.

Written by Victoria

Yes, you can ban a profile or website directly from your Mentionlytics feed. Once banned, Mentionlytics will stop tracking new mentions from that source.

How to Ban a Profile or Website

Find a mention from the source you want to ban and click the Delete icon at the bottom of the mention card. A confirmation pop-up will appear before any changes are made.

In the pop-up, select:

☐ BAN, STOP TRACKING new mentions from: [source name]

Selecting this option prevents Mentionlytics from capturing future mentions from that profile or website.

What Happens to Existing Mentions?

After selecting the ban option, an additional checkbox will appear:

☐ Also delete all existing mentions from this profile

Select it to remove mentions that have already been collected from the source. Leave it unchecked to keep the existing mentions while stopping new ones from being tracked.

Once you have made your selections, click Delete to confirm or Cancel to return without making any changes.

How to View or Reactivate a Banned Source

You can review your banned sources by going to: Settings → Banned Profiles

From there, you can reactivate a profile if you want Mentionlytics to start tracking it again.

Important Notes to Keep in Mind

  • Ban a source only when you are sure you no longer want to receive mentions from it.

  • Banning affects future tracking from that profile or website.

  • Deleting all existing mentions is optional.

  • If you ban a source by mistake and cannot reactivate it yourself, contact the Mentionlytics support team for assistance.
