Once you set up your account you can use the top filters bar to apply any filter or a combination of filters to specify your mentions and read them by any requirements you may have.
You can apply any filters from the Overview page or Mentions-all Mentions (it is recommended as you can then check the mentions one by one as well). So first make sure you are at all Mentions.
Expand the filters option to view your choices by clicking on the "filters" button.
If you need to quickly choose a channel to view the results you can use the top icons. Just click on the desired one to filter the results.
If you need to choose more than one channel, click on the desired ones, one each time.
From the left to the right, the channels are:
Web
Twitter
Facebook
YouTube
Instagram
Reviews (Google My Business Location)
Other (Reddit, LinkedIn)
Channel
By default, it includes all the available sources.
You can choose 1 channel by just clicking on the name of the channel.
To include more than 1 channel, click on the name of a channel and then click on another channel's name.
If you perform any combination of the available channels and need to include again all of them, you can either choose the "reset filters" option next to the channels' icons or from the filter "channel" choose "All Channels".
Category
Each of the supported sources has a category option for you to choose, in order to view your mentions. By default, you will view every category available.
For Web mentions the system categorizes each mention into the following categories:
In this way, you could choose for example the channel: Web and category: news, to view the news articles about your brand.
For social media networks the categories are:
Twitter: Tweets or Retweets
Facebook: a mention from a Facebook page, a post or comment (on a page) from a Facebook User, Shares, Comments for a comment (from user or page), the @mentions of an owned media Facebook page
Instagram: the Instagram Posts of an owned media business profile or Instagram Comments
GooglePlay: GooglePlay reviews
Google My Business: Google My Business Location reviews
Pinterest: Pins
Reddit: Reddit Posts or Reddit Comments
Quora: Quora mentions
LinkedIn: LinkedIn mentions
The best way to apply a category filter is to first choose a channel and then a category as you will view the right categories for each channel.
At the top of the category's options, you can choose either "All" or "None" as well.
Relevance
The Relevance filter is a filter that has been developed in order for you to always have the most relevant mentions on your screen. So, by default, the relevance is set to normal.
You can try to loosen the relevance filter to view more results that could be less relevant to your keywords, by choosing the "All" option. On the other hand, you can try to stricten the filter to limit the results to only the ones strictly relevant to your keywords.
Sentiment
Choose the desired feeling to filter the results. With negative sentiment, you will view the bad reviews, comments, posts, etc, with the neutral you will see just the neutral comments, posts, articles, etc, and with the positive, only the good comments, reviews, posts, etc will show up in your dashboard. There will be also the option to choose sentiment: Any, and it is applied by default to the system.
Country
With the country filter, you can choose a country that you would like to view the results that came from it.
If you click on it, you will see a long list of every country. You can either scroll down to find the desired country or type the country's name in the country search field.
There will be also the "Any" option that is already applied by the system. So by default, you are seeing mentions from every country.
Language
With the language filter, you can choose a language to apply and view the mentions of that specific language.
If you click on it, you will see a long list of available languages to choose from. You can either scroll down to find the desired language or type the name of the language in the language search field.
