How to Run a Lite Audit Without Google Business Profile Access

Learn how agency partners can run a Lite Audit for a lead’s Google Business Profile, even if they do not yet have access to that business profile.

Written by Justin Silverman

Lite Audits allow agency partners to audit a lead’s Google Business Profile before they have been added as a manager or owner of that profile. This is helpful when you are speaking with a potential client and want to show them opportunities Paige may be able to help with, but you do not yet have access to their Google Business Profile.

At the moment, the Lite Audit area is accessed by manually changing the audit tool URL. We plan to make this easier to access in the future, and we also plan to make it easier for more people on agency teams to run Lite Audits.

Before you start

To run a Lite Audit, you will need:

Requirement

Details

Your white label GBP audit tool URL

For example: https://audit.abcai.localmarketingsetup.com. This is set up inside the White Label tab of your Paige account if you're in Merchynt's Agency Partner Program.

Your Partner Program email address

This should be the same email address you used to sign up for the Paige Partner Program

Important limitation

Lite Audits currently only work for businesses that have a physical verified address on their Google Business Profile. This means Lite Audits will not work for service area businesses yet, although we are working on adding this capability.

For example:

Business type

Will Lite Audit work?

A dentist with a verified office address

Yes

A restaurant with a verified storefront address

Yes

A plumber that hides their address and serves a service area

Not yet

A cleaning company with no public physical address

How to run a Lite Audit

Step 1: Go to your white label GBP audit tool

Open your agency’s white label GBP audit tool in your browser.

For example:

Your agency’s URL may look different, but it should follow a similar format.

Step 2: Sign in with Google

Complete the Google authentication process. Make sure you sign in using the same email address you used to sign up for the Paige Partner Program. This step is important because our system needs to know which partner account is using the audit tool so we can ensure you have enough credits remaining to complete an audit.

Step 3: Wait until you reach the business selection screen

After signing in, you should see a screen asking which business you manage and want to audit. Normally, this screen is used for a full audit of a Google Business Profile you already have access to. For a Lite Audit, you do not need to select a business on this screen.

Step 4: Change the URL in your browser

Click into the address bar at the top of your browser.

Then change the end of the URL to:

/light-audit/search

For example, if your audit tool URL is:

You would change it to:

Then press Enter on your keyboard.

Step 5: Search for the business you want to audit

After pressing Enter, you will be taken to the Lite Audit version of the audit tool.

From there, you can search for a business even if you do not currently have access to that business’s Google Business Profile. Once you find the correct business, follow the prompts in the tool to run the Lite Audit.

What to do if you get sent back to the login screen

A common issue is that you may try to go directly to a Lite Audit URL, such as:

…but then get redirected back to the main login screen.

This usually happens because your Google authentication token has expired, or because you have not logged in through the main audit tool first.

Our system needs to know who is using the tool before allowing access to the Lite Audit area.

To fix this:

  1. Go back to your main audit tool URL.
    Example: https://audit.abcai.localmarketingsetup.com

  2. Sign in with Google using the same email address you used for the Paige Partner Program.

  3. Wait until you reach the screen that asks which business you manage and want to audit.

  4. Change the end of the URL to:
    /light-audit/search

  5. Press Enter.

This should take you to the Lite Audit search page.

Lite Audits are a great way to review potential opportunities for leads before they officially give your agency access to their Google Business Profile. If you need help finding your audit tool URL or running a Lite Audit, please reach out to us through live chat and we’ll be happy to help.
