Learn how to monitor and manage your consumption data effectively.

Updated over a month ago

The Consumption Application provides detailed insights into the meters consumption data, allowing you to monitor usage effectively across multiple meters.

This guide walks you through how to filter meters and use the application's features to access accurate and comprehensive data.

Getting Started

  1. Apply Filters:

    • Use the filters on the left-hand side to select the meters you wish to view.

    • Filters allow you to focus on specific areas, sites, or contracts, ensuring relevant data is displayed.

  2. Navigate the Ribbon Tabs:

    • The application includes a ribbon tab with multiple options to explore consumption data in detail.

Ribbon Tab - Consumption Views

1. Consumption by Origin

This feature displays total consumption for the meters selected under your filters, broken down by the source of the data:

  • Raw AMR/AMI or Digital Data: Direct readings from automated systems.

  • Manual or Estimated Data: Calculated consumption based on manual reads, estimated trends, or interpolated data.

This breakdown provides total consumption figures for the meters selected and transparency into how consumption figures are derived.

2. Consumption by Usage

View consumption based on meter types, such as:

  • Private Revenue Meters: Commercial or tenant-billed properties.

  • Wholesale Revenue Meters: Bulk supply points.

  • Private Domestic Meters: Residential properties.

  • Sub-Meters: Individual meters within larger sites.

  • And More: Additional meter types can be included to match your specific needs.

This categorisation helps identify usage patterns and optimise resource allocation effectively.

3. Consumption by Diameter

Analyse consumption by the supply size of meters, offering insights into usage patterns based on supply size. Understanding this data can guide maintenance and upgrade decisions (downsizing projects).

4. Consumption Details

The Consumption Details feature provides a sortable list of all consuming meters:

  • Sort by Total Consumption: Identify the highest-consuming meters at a glance.

  • Sort by Daily Averages: Focus on meters with the highest average daily consumption.

This option is ideal for quickly pinpointing high-usage meters and prioritising interventions.

5. Consuming Meters

The final option on the ribbon tab gives a total count of all meters currently recording consumption.

  • Breakdown by Usage Type: See the total consumption count segmented by meter types (e.g., Private Revenue, Wholesale Revenue, etc.).

This overview is helpful for summarising active consumption and understanding meter performance across your portfolio.

Why Use the Consumption Application?

  • Comprehensive Insights: Access data across multiple meters, filtered and categorised to suit your needs.

  • Quick Analysis: Sort and filter consumption data to identify trends or anomalies in seconds.

  • Customised Views: View data by origin, usage type, or diameter to optimise resource allocation.

  • Transparency: Understand how consumption figures are calculated and where the data originates.
