Using 2D Drawing Commands like PLINE while in a User Coordinate System (UCS) view can cause the World Coordinate System (WCS) and the AutoCAD ViewCube to behave unexpectedly.
In the animation below, after a PLINE is drawn and the viewpoint is set to SW, you can see the 3D cabinet drawing shift to an orientation that does not match the WCS or the ViewCube.
To reset the World Coordinate System and View Cube and restore the drawing view to normal, follow the steps below:
Enter the UCS command and select W for World.
Enter a basic navigation command like SW, SE, NW, NE, UW, UN, US, UE, UW or UPL.
Avoid this issue in the future by using 3D drawing commands like 3DPOLY when drawing in a UCS 3D view.
