Overview of roles and permissions in MindForge

In MindForge, there are four key roles, each with specific permissions that define what actions users can take within the platform. This article will walk you through these roles and their associated permissions.

1. Org. Admin

The Org. Admin is the highest level of permission in MindForge, giving users full control over the organization’s activities on the platform. Org. Admins have the following capabilities:

  • Create Jobsites and Teams: Org. Admins can set up new job sites and teams within the organization.

  • Create Custom Courses: They can create custom courses, and assign both custom courses and Marketplace courses for training across the organization and jobsites.

  • Communicate: Org. Admins can send messages to every jobsite and teams within their organization and the entire organization.

  • View/Manage Profiles: They can access and view and manage the MindForge profiles of all employees in the organization, as well as those who are members of the job sites.

2. Jobsite Admin

A Jobsite Admin has permissions tailored to managing specific job sites. This role allows users to:

  • Control Jobsite Settings: Jobsite Admins can manage emergency contact information, add necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and make jobsite-specific notes.

  • Create Teams: They can create teams within the jobsite

  • Communicate and assign courses: Jobsite Admins can send messages, and assign training to all jobsite members.

  • View/Manage Profiles: Jobsite Admins can view and manage the MindForge profiles of anyone associated with the job site they manage.

3. Team Manager

The Team Manager role is designed for individuals responsible for managing specific teams within the organization, whether these teams are linked to a job site or the broader organization. Team Managers have the following permissions:

  • Communicate: They can create and send messages to their team (s).

  • View Profiles: Team Managers can view and manage the MindForge profiles of any member within their team.

4. Member

The Member role is the most basic level of permission within MindForge.They receive and review information sent to them based on the groups they belong to. Members are primarily responsible for:

  • Viewing Messages: Members of jobsites/groups are responsible for viewing the messages sent via Message Center. They can reply if the message is a Bulletin Board Message.

  • Completing Training: Members are responsible for completing any training assigned to them.

Understanding these roles and their permissions is crucial to effectively manage your organization within MindForge. By assigning the right roles to the right people, you can ensure that your organization operates smoothly and efficiently.
