Error: An Error occurred when creating the shipment: The value entered in the field ShipperExporterVATNo WSDL V5-12 OR ExporterCustomsReference - WSDL 14 - must start with "GB" or "XI" or "IM" (not case sensitive) followed by a string of 9 to 15 digits (i.e. 0-9) OR the first 3 characters or the first 4 characters are alpha (A-Z or a-z not case sensitive) followed by numeric charactersInternationalInfo/Parcels/Parcel[1]/ContentDetails/ContentDetail[1]/TariffCode is mandatory for the service selected.

This error message appears when trying to create an international shipment with Parcelforce. The reason is when generating an international shipment within Mintsoft, the system pulls the EORI number from the order first (if one is provided) and then looks for it at the client settings page.

The Exporter Customs Reference required for the order is dependent on the country of origin. For example, if your client is sending international orders from the UK then they would need to get a UK EORI number as without this they can't ship orders.

You can input the Exporter Customs Reference in the Client Settings as follows:

  1. Click Clients and then click Overview.

  2. Find the Client click Actions and then click Edit.

  3. Choose the Country from the dropdown.

  4. Click the Customs Infromation tab.

  5. Enter the information into the EORI Number or VAT Number field.

  6. Click Save.

If the client is sending an order from a country other than that specified in the Client Settings, you need to input this in the Exporter Customs Reference field in the order details, on a case-by-case basis.

Please follow the below instructions to check this:

  1. Click Order and then Overview.

  2. Find the order then click Actions and then click Details.

  3. Enter the information into the EORI Number or VAT Number field (depending on the country of origin of the order).
