Price & Weight Embedded Barcodes

  • TouchPoint can be configured to scan price and weight embedded barcodes. Price or weight embedded barcodes start with the numbers 02, 20 or just 2.

Price Embedded Barcodes

The example below is a price embedded barcode. To set this type of price embedded barcode you would need to:

  • In TouchOffice Web

    • create a zero priced product called Roast Beef with a random code of 261867000000

    • create a weight status key (this does not need to be assigned to a keyboard)

  • In TouchPoint

    • Programming > System Programming > Non PLU Table

    • In the FORMAT STRING field, enter 2XXXXXPPPPPD

    • Set Embedded value is Weight? to NO

    • Decimal places of embedded value to 2

Weight Embedded Barcodes

The example below is a weight embedded barcode. To setup this type of weight embedded barcode you would need to:

  • In TouchOffice Web

    • create a product called Streaky Bacon with a random code of 250706000000

    • set the product price to be the price per kilo eg £9.99

    • set PLU is weight PLU? to Yes

    • create a weight status key (this does not need to be assigned to a keyboard)

  • In TouchPoint

    • Programming > System Programming > Non PLU Table

    • In the FORMAT STRING field, enter 2XXXXXWWWWWWD

    • Set Embedded value is Weight? to YES

    • Decimal places of embedded value to 3
