Your MOBY Wallet keeps your riding experience smooth by avoiding lots of small card charges. You top up your wallet, and all ride costs are deducted from your balance automatically. Here’s how your wallet works, how top-ups are triggered, and what to expect if your balance runs low.

1. Minimum Balance Required to Ride

To start any ride, your wallet must have at least €5.

This applies even if you have an active pass or subscription.

(You always need the minimum balance available before unlocking a bike.)

When you first register, your balance is €0, so a top-up is required before your first ride.

2. Minimum Top-Up Amount + Bonus Credit

The minimum top-up amount is €5. Every top-up over €10 includes bonus credit:

  • Top up €10 → get €11 in your wallet

  • Top up €15 → get €17 in your wallet

  • Top up €20 → get €23 in your wallet

The more you top up, the more bonus credit you receive. Wallet credit cannot be withdrawn or transferred to another user.

3. How Your Wallet Is Used

Whenever you ride:

  • Unlock fees

  • PAYG riding time

  • Pass overage (minutes beyond your pass)

  • Subscriptions

  • Parking fines (will be deducted from your card)

Your updated balance is shown on the home screen after each ride.

4. Auto Top-Up (Recommended)

Auto Top-Up makes sure your balance never runs out mid-ride.

How it works

If Auto Top-Up is enabled, your wallet will automatically top up by €5 whenever your balance falls below €3. This keeps your balance above the minimum amount required to ride. Auto top-ups appear as standalone charges in your bank, and are not tied to a specific ride.

If Auto Top-Up is turned off

  • You must top up manually

  • You will need to top up before starting another ride

You can enable or disable Auto Top-Up at any time inside the app.

5. What Happens if Your Balance Runs Low

Here’s how low balances are handled:

Balance between €5 and €3

You can continue riding, but you cannot start a new ride until you top up.

Balance drops below €3

  • Auto Top-Up triggers (if enabled)

  • If Auto Top-Up is off, you will need to manually top up soon

Balance reaches €1

Your ride will automatically end for safety and you must top up before starting another ride.

6. Payment Method Compatibility

We accept:

  • Apple Pay

  • Google Pay

  • Most major debit and credit cards

We do not accept:

  • Disposable or single-use virtual cards (e.g., Revolut “one-time cards”)

  • Prepaid cards

These card types often fail verification and cannot be used for wallet top-ups.

7. Issues With Wallet Top-Ups

If your wallet balance doesn’t update or the top-up failed, see:
