1. Access the Welcome Screen
Log in to Mortgage MarketSmart
You will arrive at the Welcome Screen, which displays all available tools as tiles
Note: Your screen may look slightly different depending on your user permissions. The view shown in the video reflects an admin profile
2. Understand Tile Colors and Data Sources
Tiles are color-coded based on the type of data they use
Purple tiles: Backward-looking data sets from HMDA
Green tiles: Current data from county recorder
Orange tiles: MLS data
Blue tile: Project creation tools
3. Purple Tiles (HMDA Data – Historic)
Purple tiles use HMDA data, which is backward-looking and allows analysis of past lending activity
Available tools include:
HMDA Lender Ranking Report
Create tables/reports of top lenders
Analyze market share by borrower demographics and loan type
HMDA Market Share Reports
Visual representation of market share on a map

Detailed insights into applications, denials, and metrics by lender
4. Green Tiles (County Recorder Data – Current)
Green tiles use current county recorder data for more up-to-date insights

View specific loan officers and lenders' volumes over time
View LO and Lender Originations and Market Share
Visualize current lending activity on a map
