The Meals tab is your home base for everything food-related in the app. Here's a quick tour of how it's organized and how the weekly planning system works.
The planning is the hard part. We did it for you.
The Meals tab
Tap Meals in the bottom navigation to open the Meals tab.
At the top, you'll see four sections you can toggle between:
Recipes — your home screen. Browse weekly suggestions, search the full library, and explore curated collections.
My Plan — your personal weekly plan. Everything you've added lives here, ready to cook.
Favorites — recipes you've hearted for easy access anytime.
Cooked — your full history of everything you've marked as cooked.
Your weekly suggestions
At the top of the Recipes tab, you'll find your Weekly Suggestions — a curated set of recipes chosen specifically for that week. This isn't just a recipe recommendation engine. Our nutrition team has already done the thinking for you: the suggestions are picked to share ingredients across recipes, cut down on prep time, and make the week feel manageable rather than overwhelming.
It's decision fatigue, removed. No more 5pm "what's for dinner" — the answer is already waiting.
Each week's card includes a short note explaining the logic — things like "we're using beef in a few recipes this week, so grab a couple pounds at the start and cook it all at once" or "cilantro shows up in three recipes so nothing goes to waste." That's the whole idea: fewer decisions, less waste, and a week that actually works.
You can swipe through the suggestion cards to see all of that week's picks.
Building your weekly plan
You're in full control of what actually goes into your week. Pick and choose from the weekly suggestions — add the ones that appeal to you and skip the rest. Or explore beyond them:
Browse the recipe library — search by keyword, filter by meal type or dietary need, or explore the curated collections at the bottom of the Recipes tab
Add from your Favorites — recipes you've saved are always one tap away
Add from your Cooked history — made something before? Open it from the Cooked tab and add it back
Anywhere you find a recipe in the app, tap ⊕ or Add to Plan to add it to your week.
💡 Tip: Save recipes you love to your Favorites by tapping the heart ♡ icon — so you can easily build future weeks without searching from scratch.
Your plan in action
Once you've built your plan, here's how the week flows:
Shop — Export a grocery list from My Plan. Tap Select, choose the recipes you're shopping for, then tap Grocery. Review the Share Grocery List preview and tap Share to send the whole list to Notes, a text, email, or print.
Cook — Open any recipe from My Plan to see the ingredients, macros, tips from our chefs, and step-by-step instructions. When you're done, tap Mark as Cooked and it moves to your Cooked tab automatically.
Add more — Your plan is always open. Tap Add a recipe from My Plan anytime to keep adding throughout the week.
Working with several recipes at once
Tap Select in the top right of My Plan to choose multiple recipes at a time. A bar appears at the bottom of the screen — it stays greyed out at 0 Selected and becomes tappable as soon as you pick a recipe. It gives you three actions:
Cooked — mark them all as cooked and move them to your Cooked tab
Grocery — build one grocery list from everything you've selected
Remove — take them off your plan
Tap Select All to grab the whole week at once, Deselect All to start over, or Cancel to leave selection mode without changing anything.
Removing a recipe
Don't want a recipe anymore? Tap the … in the top right of the open recipe — or on its row in My Plan — and tap Remove Recipe. To clear out several at once, use Select and then Remove.
Learn as you go
The Meals tab also includes an ongoing nutrition education series from our registered dietitian and nutritionist — short, practical tips on macros, building your plate, and making healthy eating work in real life. It's there when you want it, never required.
A note on serving sizes
Each recipe card shows the number of servings upfront so you know what you're working with before you start. As a general guide:
Dinner recipes typically serve 4 people
Breakfast, snack, and dessert recipes vary more — they may serve 1, 2, 4, or more depending on the recipe
Recipe scaling isn't available in the app (yet!), so if you need more or fewer servings you'll adjust quantities manually. Each recipe's ingredient list is laid out clearly to make that easy — and the same applies to an exported grocery list, which reflects the servings the recipe is written for.
