Workout Length & Time: What to Expect

How long are workouts on Moves?

Most workouts on Moves range from 30–75 minutes, depending on the program and format.

In Weekly Moves, every workout comes in a 30- or 60-minute version. Move Together works the same way with different lengths: 30–45 min (Express) or 60–75 min (Standard). Either way, you choose before you start.

  • The shorter version uses the same exercises and reps as the longer one, with fewer sets and rounds

  • The longer version runs the full programmed volume

This allows you to choose what works best for your day—without losing progress.

These are two separate versions, not a time estimate. When you pick the shorter or longer option, you’re choosing a differently programmed workout — not applying a timer to the same one. The section below on workouts running long is a separate thing: it’s about how your actual session compares to the label, not about what’s in the workout.

What if I only have 30 minutes?

That’s exactly what the program is designed for.

Our workouts are intentionally structured so that the most important lifts and exercises come first. That means even if you need to stop early, you’ve already completed the most impactful part of the workout.

Short on time? You can always:

  • Reduce reps

  • Skip or shorten later rounds

  • End after the main strength portion

You’re still getting meaningful work in.

Why might my workout take longer than expected?

Totally normal — and you’re not doing anything wrong.

The time shown in the app is an estimate of how long that version takes at a steady pace. It doesn’t change what’s in the workout — it’s just a guide. Real life doesn’t always look like a steady pace, so your workout might take longer depending on things like:

  • Taking longer rest breaks (especially as weights get heavier)

  • Waiting for equipment at a busy gym

  • Pausing to take care of kids, pets, or life in general

  • Moving at a more intentional pace to focus on form

It’s also important to note — Moves isn’t a follow-along workout video where everything fits perfectly into a set time. You’re moving at your own pace, which is exactly how it should be.

A quick note on pacing & intensity

If you’re consistently finishing workouts much faster than expected, it may be a sign to increase your weights or intensity to get the most out of your session.

On the flip side, if your workouts are taking longer, that’s often a sign you’re challenging yourself, taking proper rest, or simply adjusting to your environment — and that’s all part of the process.

The bottom line

Moves is designed to work with your life — not against it.

Whether you have 30 minutes or a full hour, you can adjust your workout to fit your schedule while still making progress. What matters most is showing up, staying consistent, and getting the work in — not rushing to beat the clock. 💙
