Understanding Your Workout Time Options
Move Together gives you two time options for every workout so you can choose what fits your schedule:
30–45 minutes (Express)
60–75 minutes (Standard)
Both versions follow the same program and are designed to help you make progress — you’re simply choosing the amount of time and volume that works best for you each day.
The Deload Week workouts (Week 5) don't have a time to select and are designed to take around 30-45 minutes. Learn more here.
How the Time Options Work
No matter which option you choose, you’re getting an effective, intentional workout:
30–45 Minute (Express)
A condensed version of the workout
Fewer sets or rounds to save time
Great for busy days or when you need a quicker session
60–75 Minute (Standard)
The full workout with all programmed sets
Ideal if you have more time and want maximum volume
Supports progressive overload throughout the program
Both options are built from the same programming, so you can expect consistent structure, movement patterns, and results across either choice.
Workout time will vary from person to person depending on rest, goals, equipment, and experience level. All workouts are tested across a range of users to ensure they fall within these timeframes for most participants.
💡 Pro Tip: Quality > Quantity. A focused 30–45 minute workout can be just as effective as a longer session. Use the time ranges as a guide — not a rule — and focus on moving with intention.
How to Choose Your Workout Length
You can select your preferred time option at the start of each workout:
Open the Moves App and tap your Move Together workout (from your Home screen or Calendar)
Choose either 30–45 Min or 60–75 Min
Tap Start Workout
That’s it! You can switch between options at any time depending on your schedule, energy, or goals that day.
Home vs Gym Versions
Before you start a workout in the Moves App, you’ll be able to select either a Home or Gym version of that workout. Both versions deliver the same training value — just with tools that fit your environment.
Home Version uses equipment you’re likely to have at home
Gym Version uses traditional gym machines and setups
No matter which version you choose, each workout also offers both 30–45 min (Express) and 60–75 min (Standard) formats to match your time and energy.
Why do my workouts take longer than the time shown in the app?
Totally normal — and you’re not doing anything wrong. 💙
The time listed in the app is an estimate based on a steady workout pace, but real life doesn’t always look like that. Your workouts might take a little longer depending on things like:
Taking longer rest breaks (especially as weights get heavier)
Waiting for equipment at a busy gym
Pausing to take care of kids, pets, or life in general
Moving at a more intentional pace to focus on form
It’s also important to note — Moves workouts aren’t follow-along videos where everything is designed to fit perfectly into an exact 30 or 60-minute window. You’re moving at your own pace, which is exactly how it should be.
We intentionally program workouts so that the most important lifts and exercises come first. That means even if you don’t finish every single movement, you’ve already completed the most impactful work.
If you’re short on time, you can always:
Reduce reps
Skip or shorten later rounds
Prioritize the earlier sections of the workout
What matters most is showing up and getting the work in — not rushing to beat the clock.
