Calories are a way to measure how much energy food provides your body. You may see this energy listed as calories or kilocalories (kcal), which can be a little confusing at first.
Technically, 1 kcal equals 1,000 small calories. However, when it comes to food and nutrition, the word “calories” usually means kcal. So if a meal contains 250 calories, that typically means 250 kcal.
In Calorie Counter, we use kcal to display energy values, keeping them consistent with the way nutrition information is commonly shown on food labels.
Thus, you don't need to convert anything when logging food. If the label says 250 kcal, simply enter 250 in the app.
