Why are my workouts duplicated in the app?

How to remove duplicated workout entries

Updated this week

When Apple Health receives workout data from multiple connected apps or devices, it may log the same activity more than once. These duplicates can skew your calorie counts or distort your activity readings. Here’s how to identify the issue and fix it.

1. Check Which Apps Are Writing Workout Data

If more than one app is allowed to write the same type of data, Apple Health may create duplicate entries. To prevent this:

  1. Open the Apple Health app on your iPhone.

  2. Go to the "Sharing" tab.

  3. Tap "Apps" to see which apps have permission to write workout data:

  4. If several apps (including ours) are logging the same activity, disable write access for all but one.

2. Delete Duplicate Workout Entries

To clean up your data and ensure accurate calorie count:

  1. Open the Apple Health app.

  2. Go to the "Browse" tab.

  3. Search for "Activity" and tap "Workouts":

  4. Scroll to the "Show All Data" section to view all workout entries by date and source (e.g., iPhone, Apple Watch):

  5. Tap "Edit" in the top-right corner β†’ tap the red minus icon β›” next to the duplicated entry β†’ tap "Delete" β†’ tap "Delete Workout & Data" β†’ tap "Done". You can also swipe left on an entry and tap "Delete" for quick removal:

After removing duplicates and adjusting app permissions, your workout and calorie data should display accurately across all apps synced with Apple Health.
