Troubleshooting Onboarding Errors
These errors appear in Settings > eBay Settings and prevent listing.
Error Message | Meaning | Solution |
"Please set eBay PayPal email" | You skipped the required PayPal email entry. | Go to Settings > eBay Settings and enter your PayPal email. Click Save and wait for confirmation. |
"Please update eBay settings as we are missing some of the policies" | You are missing one of the 4 required selections. | Check that the Fulfillment, Payment, Return policies, and the Merchant Location dropdowns all show a selected value. |
No policies showing in dropdowns | Policies haven't loaded from eBay, or the connection is stalled. | 1. Refresh the page.
2. Confirm that you completed Step 2 (PayPal email is required for policy loading). |
"User is not eligible for Business Policy" | Your eBay account is either too new or lacks sufficient selling history to use eBay's Policy Management system. | 1. Auto-Enroll: Visit Settings > eBay Settings and wait 15 seconds; AccelerList will attempt to enroll you automatically.
2. Build History: If the error persists, you must continue selling manually on eBay for a few weeks to build your reputation, then try the setup again. |
Troubleshooting Listing Errors
These errors appear when trying to "Publish to eBay" or "Create Listing."
Error Message | Meaning | Solution |
"The eBay listing has invalid data in the associated Return policy." | Your selected Return Policy is missing a required field (e.g., return period or refund method was deleted). | 1. Easy Fix: Go to Settings > eBay Settings and re-select the validated "AccelerList Return Policy."
2. Manual Fix: Edit your custom policy in eBay Seller Hub to ensure all required fields are filled out. |
"The eBay listing has invalid data in the associated Fulfillment policy." | Your Fulfillment Policy is missing a required field (e.g., handling time or a shipping service). | 1. Easy Fix: Go to Settings > eBay Settings and re-select the validated "AccelerList Fulfillment Policy."
2. Manual Fix: Edit your custom policy in eBay Seller Hub to ensure all required shipping options are correctly defined. |
Policy Deleted Error | You deleted a policy on eBay, but AccelerList is still trying to use its old name. | Go to Settings > eBay Settings and manually select a new, valid policy (like the "AccelerList..." policy) to overwrite the old, broken reference. |
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
About Policies & Customization
Q: Do I have to use the AccelerList policies?
A: No. The AccelerList policies are just convenient defaults. You can select any valid custom policy you create in eBay Seller Hub.
Q: Can I edit the AccelerList policies?
A: Yes. They are real policies in your eBay account. Edit them directly in eBay Seller Hub β Business Policies. Changes are immediate.
Q: Will changing policies affect my existing listings?
A: No. Changing your selection in AccelerList only affects NEW listings created after the change. Existing listings must be updated manually in eBay.
About the PayPal Email & Payments
Q: I use eBay Managed Payments. Do I still need to enter a PayPal email?
A: Yes. The PayPal email is a mandatory configuration field within eBay's payment policy structure. You must enter your PayPal email (if you have one) or your primary eBay account email. Funds will still go directly to your bank account via Managed Payments.
Q: What if I use Amazon FBA for fulfillment?
A: You still need a Merchant Location (your business or home address) for eBay's system. The address is required for the listing regardless of whether you use Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) for shipping.
