Why Isn’t My Item Being Found During Rapid Scanning?

Learn why an item may not appear during Rapid Scanning and what to check when AccelerList cannot locate a product in the Amazon catalog.

Why This Can Happen

When you scan an ISBN, UPC, or other product barcode, AccelerList uses that identifier to search for the corresponding product. Occasionally, the product may not be returned during the initial search.

Possible reasons include:

  • The barcode or ISBN was scanned incorrectly.

  • The item is not available in the selected Amazon marketplace.

  • The barcode is damaged or difficult for the scanner to read.

  • Amazon's catalog does not have a matching product for that identifier.

  • There is a temporary delay or issue retrieving product information from Amazon.

  • Your Amazon account connection may need attention.

What to Try

First, scan the item again and make sure the entire barcode is being captured correctly.

If the item still isn't found:

  1. Verify the ISBN or UPC printed on the product.

  2. Try manually entering the ISBN, UPC, or ASIN.

  3. Confirm that you're working in the correct Amazon marketplace.

  4. Try another known product to determine whether the issue affects one item or all products.

  5. Check that your Amazon account is still properly connected to AccelerList.

If Other Items Are Working

If Rapid Scanning finds other products normally, the issue may be limited to that particular item or its Amazon catalog information.

If no products are being found, there may be a connection or catalog lookup issue that requires further investigation.
