Expanding to Etsy is a great way to grow your sales and reach new customers. My Easy Monogram (MEM), a print-on-demand company, makes it simple to connect your Etsy store so custom products are automatically produced and shipped on demand.

MEM supports two integration options depending on your business setup:

  • Direct MEM → Etsy Integration → Connect your Etsy store directly to MEM.

  • Shopify → Etsy → MEM Connection → Link your Etsy store to Shopify, then let orders flow into MEM through Shopify.

Both options ensure Etsy orders are submitted to MEM for production and shipping.

Option 1: Direct Etsy Integration with MEM

This is the simplest setup for sellers who only use Etsy and don’t need Shopify.

Steps:

  1. Create a MEM Account

    • Go to [MEM Login] to sign up or log in.

  2. Connect Your Etsy Store

    • In your MEM dashboard, go to Integrations → Etsy and authorize your Etsy account.

  3. Set Up Personalization

    • Etsy does not support MEM’s live preview feature.

    • For personalized products, you’ll need to either:

      • Manually enter personalization details from Etsy orders into MEM, or

      • Upload custom artwork if you create unique designs for each order.

  4. Manage Orders & Fulfillment

    • All Etsy orders will sync directly into MEM for production and shipping.

Best for: Sellers who only use Etsy or want a simple, direct connection.

Option 2: Shopify to Etsy Integration

If you already use Shopify, this method keeps all your orders in one place and gives you more flexibility.

Steps:

  1. Sign Up or Log Into Shopify

    • If you don’t have a Shopify account yet, create one at [Shopify].

  2. Connect Your Shopify Store to MEM

    • Install the MEM app from the Shopify App Store.

    • This lets you design products, create live previews on your site, and automatically send orders to MEM.

  3. Connect Etsy to Shopify

    • To send orders from Etsy into Shopify (and then into MEM), you’ll need to use an app such as CedCommerce, Shuttle, or Marketplace Connect.

    • These apps sync your Etsy store to Shopify so orders can flow through to MEM.

    • Apps also help automate product syncing, inventory updates, and pricing rules.

⚠️ Without an integration app, Etsy orders will not flow into Shopify.

  4. Sync Products and Orders

    • Export your MEM products from Shopify to Etsy.

    • Orders placed on Etsy will flow into Shopify (via your integration app) and then into MEM for fulfillment.

    • Inventory syncs automatically across both platforms.

  5. Manage Orders in Shopify

    • All Etsy orders will appear in your Shopify admin panel, so you can manage everything in one place.

Best for: Sellers who already use Shopify and want centralized order management with automation.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need CedCommerce (or another app) to connect Etsy?

  • Direct to MEM: No app required. You can connect Etsy directly to MEM.

  • Through Shopify: Yes, an integration app (CedCommerce, Shuttle, or Marketplace Connect) is required. Without one, orders will not flow from Etsy into Shopify.

2. Can customers see live previews on Etsy?

No. Etsy does not support MEM’s live preview functionality.

For Etsy orders, you’ll need to:

  • Manually enter personalization details into MEM, or

  • Upload new artwork if you’re creating unique designs per order.

⚠️ Important Note:

  • For products that require personalization, Etsy orders will automatically be placed in Error status. This places the order on hold until the seller updates the required personalization within MEM.

  • If you’ve created products that do not require personalization, but you still want the ability to update the production image before the order goes into production, you’ll need to enable the Product Hold feature when creating those products in the Design Studio.

Pro Tip: If you use Shopify, you can technically connect your store directly to Etsy without using apps like CedCommerce. However, integration apps make automation and management much easier at scale. Using apps ensures Etsy orders flow smoothly into Shopify and then into MEM, giving you the flexibility to choose the workflow that best fits your business.
