Sync calories, macronutrients, steps & body weight from other fitness apps (e.g., MyFitnessPal, Yazio, FDDB, etc.) automatically into the MyFitCoach app with our new Apple Health integration.

For example, if you track your nutrition in MyFitnessPal and have connected MyFitnessPal to Apple Health, you no longer need to manually enter your calories and macronutrients into the MyFitCoach app. Instead, you can have them automatically transferred in real-time from MyFitnessPal via Apple Health to the MyFitCoach app.

To do this, simply go to Profile > Settings > Apple Health and enable synchronization for the desired data points.

Detailed Instructions

Conditions

To use this feature, you should meet the following conditions:

  • You should have the iOS version of MyFitCoach installed with version number 1.10 or higher. To synchronize your macros, macro tracking must be enabled, whereas to synchronize your steps, both macro and step tracking must be enabled. You can make the necessary adjustments in your nutrition profile.

  • Apple Health (also known as “Health”) should be installed and set up on your iPhone. If you need help with this, you can follow this article. LINK

  • The data you want to transfer should be recorded by another app, a specific device, or directly by Apple Health and stored there so that MyFitCoach can transfer these data.

Activating the Feature

If you meet these conditions, you can enable synchronization in the settings. To do so, open the MyFitCoach app and navigate to “Profile,” then tap the gear icon in the upper right corner and select “Apple Health.” On this screen, you can now activate the synchronization of your steps, macros, workouts or body weight (Health data) via Apple Health. If you don’t see one of the options, make sure you meet the above conditions.

When activating synchronization via Health, you will be asked if you want to grant MyFitCoach permission to read your Health data. It’s important that you agree, otherwise, we can't automatically load your Health data into the app. If you disable synchronization in the MyFitCoach app and still don't receive any data, make sure you have granted us the necessary permissions in Apple Health. Also, make sure that your food tracking app is connected to Health so that the data is available in Health.

Effects of Activation

It’s worth noting that currently, you can either manually input or synchronize data. While the synchronization of certain data is enabled via Apple Health, this data can’t be manually entered or adjusted. To modify the step data, you can delete, add, or adjust the data directly in Apple’s “Health” app.

Alternatively, you can edit all days if you disable the feature in MyFitCoach. However, the current day will be overwritten when you turn synchronization back on.

Disabling Apple Health synchronization

If you want to disable the feature, you can also do this in the settings. Simply toggle the respective switch off.
