Overview
This article explains One-by-One scanning mode and a Lock Source Location feature for both Product Transfer and Directed Putaway operations.
These functionaliities are designed to increase warehouse efficiency by eliminating manual quantity entry and removing the need to re-scan the source location when moving multiple items from the same bin or tote.
The main purpose of these functionalities are to streamline high-volume, single-unit operations and reduce operational friction for handlers performing repetitive transfers from a single source location.
One-by-One Transfer and Putaway Flow
This flow is optimized for "rapid-fire" scanning where every scan represents a quantity of one unit.
1. Menu Navigation
Product Transfer: Tapping this now opens an intermediate selection screen where you must choose between Bulk or One-by-One.
Directed Putaway: The menu now includes a Product (one-by-one) option alongside the updated Product (Bulk) and (LP) options.
2. Standard Operational Steps
Navigate to the One-by-One screen (Transfer or Putaway).
Scan Source: Scan the Source Location/LP. The system auto-focuses here by default.
Scan Product: Once a valid source is verified, focus moves automatically to the Product field.
Target Scan: After scanning a valid product (and resolving any necessary bottom sheets for Lot Number/Expiry or Production Date), the app navigates directly to the Target Location/LP screen, skipping the quantity entry step.
Auto-Submit: Scanning a valid target triggers the transfer immediately for 1 qty of the scanned product.
Repetetitive Transfers: By repeating all steps above, inventory can be transferred through scanning only without a need to enter quantity manually.
Lock Source Location/LP Functionality
The Lock Source Location/LP toggle is available in both One-by-One and Bulk flows.
Toggle Logic and Focus Behavior
Initial State: The toggle is visible but Disabled (greyed out) until a valid Source Location/LP is scanned and verified.
Enabling the Lock (ON):
The Source Location/LP field becomes Read-Only (visually distinct with a grey background).
Focus is forced to the Product field.
Loop Behavior: After a successful transfer, the user returns to the start screen with the source value still populated and focus remains on the Product field.
Disabling the Lock (OFF):
Focus immediately jumps back to the Source Location/LP field.
The previous source value is fully highlighted (Select All), allowing the next scan to overwrite it immediately without manual deletion.
Loop Behavior: After a successful transfer, all fields are cleared, and focus returns to the Source Location/LP field.
