This article explains how the mobile Ship by Location screen can be used to quickly and efficiently ship all orders that exist at the scanned location. As long as the orders in the location follow the rules listed below, this tool can be used to ship everything in a location at once. Just click to view each section and learn more.
Requirements for Ship by Location
Scanned location(s) must contain only orders in the Ready to Ship status. They should not have any pending picking and/or packing tasks.
All shipment packages belonging to the orders in the scanned location must be at the scanned location.
Example: ORDER1 has two shipment packages: PCK1 and PCK2. If PCK1 is in the scanned location and PCK2 is in another location, shipment by location cannot be completed for this location until PCK2 is moved to the scanned location.
If inventory has the Stock status and/or if at least one order at this location is unallocated, shipment by location cannot be completed for this location.
If the shipment order type's Allow Shipment Without Label parameter is disabled and if there is no label for the order, the order cannot be shipped.
Step-by-Step Guide
First, select Shipment from the home page of the app.
Select Ship Location from the two options on screen.
Next, enter a location code in the Scan or Enter Location field.
If entering the location code manually, hit Enter.
Click the Ship button at the bottom of the screen to continue.
A summary pop-up will load with the following fields, to confirm that the user wants to ship the following:
Location Code: Scanned location code.
Location Display Name: Display name for the location (if it is not null).
Order Qty: Total order quantity in this location.
Package Qty: Total shipment package quantity in this location
Click the Ship button to continue.
If the order(s) ship successfully, you will receive a confirmation message.
If any orders in the location do not observe the requirements above, you will receive an error message. Examples below.
If this occurs, click OK to accept the message and cancel this operation.
