When it comes to carrier integrations, many of our users with clients utilize the ability to set markup rates. This feature allows you to add additional charges or fees to shipping rates provided by carriers. In this article, we will explore how to activate and configure markup rates for you carrier integration setups.
Step-by-Step Guide
Markups can be set when creating a carrier connection or added at a later date through editing.
As markups are set per carrier connection, this process will need to be completed for each carrier you want to use markups with. Any clients who have access to this carrier connection will be subject to the markup rates you set.
Proceed to the Integrations section and navigate to Shipping.
Select the desired carrier for which you want to set up markup rates.
Create a new setup or select the Edit button on an existing one.
Navigate to the Advanced section of the setup.
When configuring markup rates, there are two types of markup options available: Percentage and Fixed Price.
Percentage: Enter the markup amount into the Enter Markup Amount field. Using the Up/Down arrows will add another 10%. Type into the field directly to use a different numeral amount.
For example, if a label costs 5.00 USD and a 10% markup is added, the label will be priced at 5.50 USD for the client.
Fixed Price: Enter the markup amount into the Enter Markup Amount field. Using the Up/Down arrows will add another 1. Type into the field directly to use a different numeral amount.
For example, if a label costs 5.00 USD and a 5.00 markup is added, the label will be priced at 10.00 USD for the client.
Click Save once you've chosen your preferred markup rate. Please note that currently only one markup rate can be applied per carrier.
The total and type of markup that has been selected will be visible in the Advanced section.
Use the X to delete this rate or Edit to make changes.
Click Finish to complete the process.
The markup rate is not visible from the integration page, so if you wish to check it, please select the Edit or Show Details option.
Markup rates will not be visible from the Packing or other related shipping screens, only from the integration setup.
