Add a Custom Carrier Setup

How to add a carrier setup of your choice to the system after data setup.

If you're looking to add a carrier that isn't already connected to Logiwa, the Custom Carrier option is here to help. With this feature, your team can build a direct connection between Logiwa and a carrier of your choosing. The initial steps needed are explained in this article. The remaining steps will be covered below.

Guide to Custom Carrier Setup

  • To begin, navigate to the Integration Management (Shipping) section.

  • Select Custom Carrier from the available shipping options.

  • Next, select the Add New Connection button to start creating your custom carrier.

    • You can also Update or Delete an existing custom carriers from the same screen.

General

  • In the General section, fill in the required Setup Name and Warehouse.

  • Additionally, you can enter information in the Connection section, which includes the method URLs that will be used for the custom carrier setup. Further explanation for each field below the screenshot:

Field

Explanation

Setup Name*

The name for this custom carrier setup that will appear in the system.

Warehouse*

The warehouse using this custom carrier setup.

Active

When enabled, the custom carrier setup is active. Toggle to No to make the setup inactive.

API Key

The API key received from the custom carrier. What this is called by the carrier may vary.

API Secret

The API secret received from the custom carrier. What this is called by the carrier may vary.

Token URL

The URL for the API token.

Get Rate URL

The API method URL used to get rates from the carrier.

Create Label URL

The API method URL used to create labels from the carrier.

Void Label URL

The API method URL used to void (cancel) labels from the carrier.

End-of-Day Report URL

The API method URL used to retrieve the carrier's EOD report.

  • For more information about the fields used to build an API connection to Logiwa, please see our Custom Carrier Field Map.

  • Once you've filled in the necessary information, click Next to continue to the Clients section.

Clients

  • In this section, you can either use Select Manually to add clients or choose the All Clients option to add them all.

  • When using Select Manually, you will be able to Disable or Enable clients by selecting the box next to their name and using the coinciding buttons.

  • Clients with access will be labeled Has Access while those without will be labelled No Access.

  • Once you've made the necessary choices, click Next to continue to the Carriers section.

Carriers

  • In the Carriers section, you'll select the custom carrier you created under Data Setup.

  • Choose the carrier by selecting the box next to its name and clicking the Enable button. It will say Has Access when the carrier has been enabled.

  • Once you've made the necessary choices, click Next to continue to the Services section.

Services

  • In the Services section, you'll select the custom carrier shipping services you created under Data Setup.

  • You can either select Use All Services to select all of the services you've set up or Select Manually.

  • When selecting manually, choose the services by selecting the boxes next to their names and clicking the Enable button. It will say Has Access when the services have been enabled.

  • Click the Next button to move to the Packages section.

Packages

  • In the Packages section, you'll select the custom carrier packages you created under Data Setup.

  • You can either select All Packages to select all of the packages you've set up or Select Manually.

  • When selecting manually, choose the packages by selecting the boxes next to their names and clicking the Enable button. It will say Has Access when the packages have been enabled.

  • Click the Next button to move to the Advanced section.

Advanced

In the Advanced section, you will fill in advanced information related to the carrier. These fields are optional, but we recommend filling them in to use the carrier connection most accurately and effectively.

Please note that the Ship From Address is required.

Click the sections below to learn more about each advanced option.

Ship From Address

  • For this section, click Add Address to add a default ship from address for this connection.

  • From the Add Ship From Location ither fill in a different Ship From address to use when using this carrier, or select Use Warehouse Address and choose the relevant warehouse to automatically fill in the address.



Third Party Account

  • Use this section to add a third-party billing account for this carrier.

  • Click Add Account to open the Add Third Part Account pop-up.

  • Fill in the Account Number, Country (Billing Country), and Postal Code (Billing Zip). All fields are required.



Markup Rate

  • In this section, you can add either a fixed or percentage-based markup rate for this connection.

  • For Markup Type, select Percentage or Fixed Price, then enter a corresponding number for the markup.

    • If Percentage is selected, you will enter Markup Amount by percent.

    • If Fixed Price is selected, you will enter a specific price for the Markup Amount. The currency used will be the default currency for your account.

  • Once you've entered the needed amount, you can continue adding other options of click Finish.


Label Settings

  • In this section, you can adjust the label format and size, as well as add up to two label messages.

  • The Label Format is the file type that your label will be created in. If available, select the format from the available options by using the dropdown. Some carriers may not allow for different label formats.

  • The Label Size is the size the label will print. If available, select the size from the available options by using the dropdown. Some carriers may not allow for different label sizes.

  • The Label Messages enable users to add extra chosen fields to the carrier label. All chosen label messages will be printed on the label, in addition to the default information of the label. The number of label messages needed may differ from carrier to carrier. The available fields are listed in each label message drop-down.

    • For example, if you would like to add the store name to all printed labels from this carrier, select StoreName from the dropdown.


Finalization

  • After choosing or skipping the Advanced options, click Finish to complete your new carrier setup.

  • You will be returned to the shipping integrations page. You will receive a confirmation message and also be able to view your new custom carrier connection.
