Definition

The Kit Inventory Report is designed to provide detailed insights into kit products within the inventory. Kit products can be categorized into two types: Kit-to-Stock and Kit-to-Order. Kit-to-Stock products physically exist in the inventory, whereas Kit-to-Order products are assembled on-demand and do not physically exist in the inventory until ordered.

How is it useful?

This report is essential for inventory management, enabling businesses to track and manage their kit products effectively. It helps in:

  • Determining the availability of components needed to assemble kits.

  • Managing inventory levels for both Kit-to-Stock and Kit-to-Order products.

  • Ensuring timely fulfillment of orders by monitoring pending order quantities.

  • Optimizing the production and assembly processes based on available resources and inventory.

How does it work?

The report is a real-time report. Any inventory level change and the stock transfer will affect this report simultaneously.

The report distinguishes between Kit-to-Stock and Kit-to-Order products, providing calculations for inventory capacity and kitting requirements based on available components and existing inventory. This helps in efficient inventory management and timely order fulfillment.
