Kit products are products consisting of several other products. The parts of a kit product are referred to as Components in Logiwa. In Logiwa, kits are either kit to order or kit to stock.

Kit-to-Order products do not require any assembly process; their components can be picked, packed, and shipped just like normal products. Furthermore, the components can be sold individually, independent of the kit-to-order product.

Kit-to-order products cannot physically exist in the inventory. Therefore, add/adjust/remove inventory functions (via desktop, Open API, or Excel import) are not applicable for kit-to-order products.

On the other hand, Kit-to-Stock products can be assembled and stored in the warehouse using our Work Orders process. To learn more about this process, see this article.

Both types of kit products can be created from the Products screen.

Creating Kit Products

  • Proceed to the Products Screen and click on the Create New Product button.

  • Select Kit from the available Product Categories.

General

  • Choose whether your kit is Kit to Order or Kit to Stock. Keep in mind that kit-to-order products will not be physically stored in inventory after creation.

Components

  • By using the Search & Add Component bar, you can search for products and add as a component to your new kit-to-order product.

  • Select the quantity amount of each component and click on the Plus (+) sign to add the component.

IMPORTANT: Kit products in one kit cannot be defined as components of other kit products.

  • Added components' quantity can be adjusted if necessary or the component can be also removed in the Components tab.

  • Click on the Next button to proceed to the Packing section.

Packing

  • Define the necessary information, then click on the Next button to proceed to the Advanced section.

Advanced

  • This allows for the addition of a Customs Declaration for the kit. Click the Plus (+) symbol to begin adding customs information.

  • Fill in or toggle the following options:

    • Declared Value: The stated monetary worth of the components of the kit being shipped or transported

    • HS Tariff Code: An internationally standardized numerical code assigned to products for customs and tariff purposes.

    • Origin Country Code: A two-letter code representing the country of origin for imported goods, used to determine tariffs, quotas, and other regulations.

    • Is not declared to customs?: When disabled (default), this kit product will automatically be declared to customs. When enabled, this kit will not automatically be declared to customs.

Description: A list of all the components contained in the kit to be used for customs purposes.

  • Finally, navigate to the Other Info section.
