How does the Trev + MINDA integration work?

Once you've set up the Trev + MINDA Integration connection, livestock events will automatically flow through to the Trev Stock module as new livestock events, in either draft or confirmed state, depending on your connection settings.

What data syncs between MINDA and Trev?

The flow of data from MINDA to Trev happens in a few different ways:

  • Initial sync: when setting up the integration, data is fetched from the connection start date up to “yesterday” (unless a connection end date is specified).

  • Daily process: Every 6 hours, Trev will fetch data for the last 30 days (up to “yesterday”).

  • Weekly process: Every Monday at 3 am, Trev will do a full sync to catch any retrospective data changes that fall outside of the daily ‘last 30 day’ process.

  • A manual sync can be initiated by Trev users, more information on how to do this below.

Handling incoming MINDA livestock events:

If your connection settings are configured to bring MINDA livestock events in as draft events, these will appear in blue at the top of your Livestock Events section within the Stock module.

From here you can:

  • Confirm the event simply by clicking the green tick icon.

  • Edit the event by clicking on the blue edit (pencil) icon. This will allow you to add any Notes and References section or other details, such as cause of death or sale weights. Some event details are locked (e.g. date, event type, number of animals) as this information comes directly from MINDA. To adjust these details, you will need to update them in the MINDA platform.

  • Reject the event by clicking the red rubbish bin icon. If you reject the event by accident, this can be restored from within the MINDA Integration menu.

If your connection settings are set to bring livestock events in as "confirmed", then there is nothing more you need to do to make sure the event is included in your farms analytics. However, you may choose to edit the event to assign the weights, cause of death or include any extra Notes/References.

Important note: If data has changed since the previous sync, this will automatically update values for the corresponding event in Trev. This means even if you’ve opted to import data as a ‘Draft’ event in Trev, if you have previously manually confirmed an event in Trev, should the underlying data in MINDA change for this day/event-type then this will automatically update in Trev, i.e. it will not revert back to a draft state.

If you have a new MINDA livestock event that you want to show up in Trev sooner, there are a couple of ways you can manually trigger a MINDA sync.

Triggering a manual sync from within the reporting process:

  1. From the Home page, click into the current weekly report for the farm that you want to trigger the manual sync for.

  2. From the drop-down menu, select the Stock module.

  3. At the bottom left of the Stock module page, there will be a 'Sync with MINDA' button, click that button.

  4. A pop-up will appear with a list of the livestock events you already have. Click the 'Sync Now' button to fetch recent events from the last 30 days.

Triggering a manual sync from within the integrations menu:

  1. Click on the menu icon (the three lines) in the top left corner of the dashboard.

  2. Select Integrations from the menu.

  3. Locate the MINDA tile on the Integrations landing page and click on 'Manage Connection'.

  4. From the list of connected farms, select 'Manage data' to the right-hand side of the farm you want to trigger the manual sync for.

  5. To trigger the manual sync, click the blue 'Sync with MINDA' button on the top right of the page.
