How do I set up the Trev + MINDA integration?

Getting started:

  • Make sure you’re all set up with a Trev account:

    • You have an active Trev login and can access go.mytrev.com

    • You have Full Access or Authorised access to any farms you wish to connect to MINDA. You can check your farm access levels here.

    • The farm you want to connect with MINDA has a Trev Pro subscription.

    • Your farm should not be configured to use the auto-ageing functionality for aging stock classes at the end of the season.

  • Make sure you’re all set up with MINDA:

    • You have an active MINDA login with herd owner access or delegated authority to be able to consent to share data for your farm.

Getting connected:

Once you've reviewed the getting started checklist above, you'll want to connect your Trev account with your MINDA account. Here's how:

  1. Click on the menu icon (the three lines) in the top left corner of the dashboard.

  2. Select Integrations from the menu

  3. Locate the MINDA tile on the Integrations landing page and click on “Connect”.

  4. After clicking connect, you’ll be prompted with an overview and will be asked to agree with the terms of the Integration. You will be able to find further details on the Integration and the full Terms and Conditions by clicking on the links provided. If you’re happy with the terms of the Integration, click the "I Agree" button.

  5. This will direct you to a LIC MINDA login screen where you can enter the credentials of your LIC MINDA account.

  6. Once you're authenticated with MINDA, you'll be dropped to the main MINDA integration page. Here you'll see a list of your farms, if you have the appropriate level of access, a Connect button will show to the right of the farm name. Select the farm you want to connect (farms must be connected one at a time) and click "Connect"

  7. Once you’ve selected the farm you want to connect, you will be asked to configure the connection settings for the integration. You can create multiple connections for a single farm (provided their timeframes don't overlap). You can give the connection a name if you wish, next you need to set the Date Synchronisation Range, which sets the start date from which the sessions will pull in from, this means you can set it to a date in the past if you want to bring in historical data. Time periods for connections for the same farm cannot overlap and you must set a start date but you can leave the end date open-ended.

  8. Second, you will need to set the Data State that you want the MINDA data to be imported into Trev as. We recommend the draft setting, which means Trev will shape up the livestock events as a draft event and then these will need to be checked over and confirmed in Trev's weekly reporting process or via the mobile app. If you prefer, you can set livestock events to come in as confirmed.

  9. Select the LIC Participant code you want to link to the farm in Trev. You can add multiple participant codes to one farm, but a single herd code can not be split across multiple Trev farms.

  10. For each MINDA stock class, please select a corresponding stock class that events for the farm will be mapped to in Trev.

Note: Class change events are determined by the MINDA aging process. For female stock this means R1 Heifers → R2 Heifers → MA Cows. For male stock, Trev only has visibility of the adult `Breeding Bulls` stock class, this means when setting up the integration you can select a Trev stock class to represent “Young male stock”, this stock class will be used to create a ‘Class Change Out’ event to correspond with a class change in for Breeding Bull. You can also select not to map the Breeding Bulls (and therefore “young male stock”) within a connection if you don’t want to sync male stock.

  11. Similarly, for Livestock Event type, select whether 'Bobbied' animals in MINDA are presented as 'Sold', 'Culled', or 'Death' in Trev.

  12. Once you are happy with the controls you've set for the integration, click "Create Connection".

How to remove the connection:

If you've connected the wrong herd code to a farm in Trev, follow these instructions:

  1. Navigate to the "Integrations" page and select "Manage Connections" on the MINDA tile.

  2. Select the "Manage Connection" button on the farms which connection you are looking to remove.

  3. Delete the connection

  4. Reconnect with the correct herd code

If you've connected the wrong MINDA account to Trev in the original authorisation process, please contact the Trev team via the chat or email support@mytrev.com
