What Privacy Settings can be applied to a donation?
Updated over a month ago

In addition to being able to edit a donor's 'Note or dedication' under the 'Privacy Settings' section, three options can be checked or unchecked according to the donor's wishes.

a) Checking the option 'Post my donation amount' will ensure the amount of the donor's gift is publicly displayed on the Donor Scroll. If unchecked, the post will only include the donor's name and any notes they added.

b) If the box next to 'Post my name' is unchecked, the donation will appear as 'Anonymous' on the public-facing donation page.

Please Note: Even if 'Post my name' is unchecked, if the donation was made through 'Fundraising Pages', the donor's information will still be securely stored in 'Donor Management' for acknowledgment and reporting purposes. This information will only be accessible to organization administrators.

c) Donor Scroll posts on a Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Page allow you to share or hide donor information from an individual fundraiser.

Unchecking the box next to 'Share my information with the individual fundraiser' prevents the individual fundraiser who received the donation from viewing the donor's personal information. The donation will appear as 'Anonymous' in their internal contributor views and reports.

When you are finished making your edits, click the 'Save & Exit' button at the top of the screen; the Donor Scroll will automatically update to reflect those changes!

Fully Anonymizing a Contribution

Some donors might not want to share any information about their contribution and request a Donor Scroll post be removed entirely. Unfortunately, you cannot completely remove a Donor Scroll post - however, you can remove all identifying information from the post.

By unchecking all three boxes under 'Privacy Settings', all information attached to the post will be removed. It will reflect as 'Anonymous' donated in support of your campaign and it will also hide the donation amount.
