How do I add a “Bidder” to my Auction?

To add a new Bidder to an Auction, a nonprofit can click on the “Add Bidder” button, located in the “My Bidders” section of their Auctions Dashboard.

A pop-up window will appear and the nonprofit should begin typing the bidder’s name into the search field. If the search bar does not return any results, the nonprofit can click on the option to “Add a New Bidder” from the drop-down menu.

(If the bidder already exists in the system, then the nonprofit should be able to locate and select the name from that same drop-down menu.)

Once the page reloads, the nonprofit can enter in the required information for the donor and click on “Save & Exit” to add them to their list of participants.

Can I import an existing list of Bidders into my Auction?

Yes! We have a template that you can use to import multiple Bidders into your Auction at once. You can import your list in by clicking the "Settings" button in the top-right corner, and selecting the option to "Import" from the drop-down menu.

We do strongly recommend that nonprofits encourage their donors to sign themselves up for the Auction, using the steps outlined above.

A good way to do this is to publish the public link to your auction in advance to your auction or event’s attendee list – as well as add it to your Essential Events page, if you’re running the two together!

What if I need to edit a Bidder’s information?

To edit a Bidder’s information, the nonprofit should first locate the Bidder by navigating to their Auctions Dashboard, and by locating the bidder in question from the “Bidders” section on the page.

If the Bidder isn’t listed, they can press the “View All” button in that section to open a list of all Bidders.

The nonprofit can then select the “Actions” button next to the bid and select the “Edit” option to edit the Bidder as needed.

How do I manually add an item to a bidder’s winnings?

To manually add an item to a winner’s biddings, you’ll want to locate the item in your “Items” section on your Auction page’s Dashboard and click on the name of the item.

NOTE: If the item isn’t displayed, you may need to click on the “View All” button to expand the full list of available items.

Once you’ve opened the item’s “Details” page, click on the “Add Bid" button towards the top right corner of the “Bids” section.

You will then be prompted to enter the bidder’s name or number and select them from the drop-down options, and then enter the amount of their bid.

Once completed, you can click “Save”, and the item should then reflect the newly-added bid.
