Steps for Donors to Modify a Recurring Donation
If one of your donors is looking to update or stop one of their recurring donations, you can send them the following instructions to help them walk through this process.
Updating The Amount or Frequency of a Donation
First, you'll want to go to one of the organization's donation pages. (It doesn't matter if the donation page is the one where your recurring donation was made.)
Next, locate the "Log In" button in the upper-right corner of the page.
Then, use the email address and password you used when you made your first donation to log into your donor account.
Once you've logged in, locate and click on the "Recurring Donations" option in the left-hand navigation options.
From this page, you should be able to change the amount of frequency of the donation by clicking on the "Actions" button, and selecting "Edit" from the drop-down options.
Please keep in mind that a donation will continue to process on the anniversary of the date which they were set up. If you want to change the date that the donation is processed, you should instead cancel the donation and set it up on the next instance of that desired donation date.
Cancelling a Recurring Donation
If you would like to cancel your recurring donation, you'll want to click that same "Actions" button as above.
You'll then click on the "Stop" button that appears in the drop-down options.
Updating a Recurring Donation's Payment Method
You can also change the credit card that's associated with your recurring donation, in case you'd like to use a different card or update a card's expiration date.
From the left-hand navigation options, you'll want to select the option for "Billing."
You should then see a card type and number listed, as well as a gray "Update" button.
If you click on that "Update" button, you'll be able to make any necessary changes to the payment type for that recurring donation.
