It can be tricky to accurately estimate a wait. Here are a few different methods we offer to help you quote more accurately. You can set a method when editing or creating Queues.
Method | Description |
Last Quoted | Uses the last wait time your staff quoted. |
Last Actual | Uses the time elapsed between when the last guest was added and when they were notified. |
Average Quoted | Uses the average wait time quoted by your staff. By default, this is the average of the last 30 guests that joined the waitlist in the past 4 hours. |
Average Actual | Uses the average time elapsed between when a guest was added and when they were notified. By default, this is the average of the last 30 guests that joined the waitlist in the past 4 hours. |
Custom | Uses a static estimated wait time that you define. |
Note: knowing if your guests will be added to the waitlist by Staff entry only, Self Check-in only, or some combination of both will help determine what type of Wait Time Method to establish.
If your guests are added to the waitlist via Self Check-in only, certain methods like Last Quoted and Average Quoted become irrelevant as there won't be any human staff quoted estimated wait times to reference - we recommend using either Last Actual, Average Actual, or Custom
