My account is locked - how do I unlock it?

How and why accounts get locked, and how to request the unlocking of your account

Updated over a year ago

Why is my account locked?

If your account has been locked it’s likely due to one of the following reasons:

  • Most often this happens if you’ve taken screenshots of nkoda content, shared your screen, or connected your device to a monitor. This ensures the security of our publishing partners’ materials, as well as making sure that all composers, artists, arrangers and editors are remunerated fairly.

  • If we’ve detected any possible fraudulent activity on your account (such as multiple failed attempts to log in) - we do this to protect you.

  • If we suspect there has been a violation of our End User Licence Agreement.

To request the unlocking of your account, please do the following:

  1. If you're an iOS user, check to see if you have remaining data to back up - here's an article on that. If you aren't an iOS user, skip this step.

  2. Delete the nkoda app from your device (and make sure that no other devices have your profile active)

  3. Send us a message (either by chat or by emailing support@nkoda.com) confirming that you have deleted the nkoda app from your device. Please provide details of the email registered with your account and your full profile name so that we can find your locked account.

  4. Wait for a member of the support team to confirm that the account has been unlocked
