Bulk Game Edits

Updated this week

While editing games individually is great for minor tweaks it can quickly become a tremendous task when having to having to change more than a couple of games at a time.

This is where Notch's bulk edit functionality saves time and makes a daunting task into a simple one.

How the edit games in bulk

After games are loaded into your group you will find their records in the 'Games' page of your assignor dashboard. To get started with a bulk edit simply click the checkbox next to the games you wish to edit as shown. -

When selecting multiple games you will see the "Bulk Edit(X)" button appear at the top of the list near the red "Cancel" button. When you have finished your selection simply click the "Bulk Edit" button to start making changes.

After clicking "Bulk Edit" you will be shown the popup displayed above. Lets take a moment to break down the different options ;

  • Date

    • Change Date - Changes the date of the selected games to the new date selected. Game times will remain the same.

  • Time

    • Time Adjustment - Add or subtract hours or minutes to the selected games times. Game date will remain the same.

  • Venue & Field

    • Venue - Sets a new location for all the games selected. The list is populated from the list of locations configured in your groups locations.

    • Field /Court - Sets a new court for all the games selected.

Once you have made your changes simply click the "Review Changes" button to continue.

Typically you should see your games with preview of the changes as shown above. However, if your game(s) are unable to be changed due for any reason you will see an error message like the one shown below.

You can still confirm your changes to edit the games that are not displaying an error. However, the games that are in an error state will not be changed. You will need to first fix the error before the desired changes can be made. In our example above we would need to first add a location & court to the game.

Once you are ready you can confirm your changes and a success message showing the number of edited games will appear.

In our case 2/3 of the games required a location before changes could be made via the bulk edit. However, our 3rd game was able to be changed successfully.

You now should be able to edit your games in bulk! If you have any additional questions please reach out to Notch support.
