Official Dashboard Overview

Our overview of your dashboard will help you get started on Notch as an official.

Welcome to Notch! You're on the way to your first steps in your dashboard and we're excited to have you on board. This guide will give you a quick tour of your Official Dashboard, helping you get familiar with the layout and features as you start scheduling and managing games.

Home Dashboard

When you first sign up and log into Notch, you'll land on your Home Dashboard. This is your home base, the page you'll return to every time you log in. Here, you'll find all the important information related to your upcoming games and assignments, making it easy to stay on top of your schedule.

You'll notice that dashboard metrics will look something like this when you first get started:

Let's break this page down into its key components.

Dashboard Filters

At the top of your dashboard, you'll find filters to help you organize and view your games easily:

  • Search Bar: Search for games by keywords, game numbers, or titles (e.g., "Soccer Stars Game #2").

  • Date Range: Filter your games by scheduled date. Choose from presets like "Today," "Next 7 Days," or set a custom range.

  • Group: If you're working with multiple assignors, this filter allows you to view games by group.

  • Competition: Once you select a group, you can filter by the specific competition.

Overview

Beneath the filters, you'll find your Available Payout balance and a summary of your games. Here's an example when you have current and past game assignments:

Available Payout

  • If your assignor uses Notch Pay, this balance will update automatically as you're paid.

  • If they don't, you'll still track your assignments here, but you'll be paid offline.

Game Overview Tabs

Your games are organized into three key tabs:

  • Accepted Games: Games you've confirmed and are scheduled to officiate.

  • Games to Accept: New game assignments waiting for your confirmation.

  • Requested Games: Games your assignor has asked about your availability.

You can switch between these tabs to view the corresponding games in the table below. Simply tap or swipe when using the mobile app.

Game Details Table

Below the overview tabs, you'll see a detailed table of your games based on the tab and filters you've selected. Each game entry includes:

  • Date and time

  • Location

  • Competition details

  • Assignment type (referee, assistant referee, etc.)

  • Game fee

  • Current status

πŸ’‘ Tips:

  • Check your dashboard regularly: We recommend logging in at least once every 1-2 days to catch new assignments.

  • Respond promptly: Assignors appreciate quick responses to game requests and assignments.

  • Use filters effectively: As your game schedule grows, filters will help you manage your calendar more efficiently.

My Games

While the Home Dashboard gives you a high-level view, the My Games page provides a more detailed and comprehensive list of your current and past assignments.

Key Features

  • Current / Past / Canceled Tabs: Use click these tabs to switch between viewing your upcoming games, completed assignments, or cancelled games.

  • Enhanced Filters: Filters here work the same as the main dashboard but include one key addition:

    • Assignment Status:

      • Assigned / Unaccepted: You've been assigned or requested this game, but it's not confirmed yet.

      • Assigned / Accepted: You or your assignor have accepted the assignment.

Game Details

Click or tap any game to view comprehensive details such as:

  • Location with full address

  • Field number

  • Complete crew roster with assignments

  • Game times (arrival, start, estimated end)

  • Uniform requirements

  • Game fees

Open Games

Once you're added to a group by an assignor, you can view Open Games. This is where you'll find games with at least one open role that you can request.

What you'll see in the list

The Open Games page shows every game with at least one open role that you're eligible to work. Each row includes:

  • Game date and time

  • Sport, level, and competition

  • Location

  • Crew size (open and filled roles)

  • Pay rates

You may see games on this page even when you have a conflicting assignment or when your weekly availability says you're unavailable. The list is intentionally broad. Availability is checked per-game when you click Check Availability.

Eligibility Criteria

A game appears in your Open Games list when:

  • The competition allows self-requests

  • You're eligible based on your sport minimum tier (if it applies), group membership, and any required certifications

  • The game has at least one open role

  • You haven't reached your daily request limit (if your assignor has set one)

Requesting a Game

Open Games uses a two-step flow:

  1. Click Check Availability on the game's row.

  2. Click Request on the role you want. If approved, you'll receive an email and/or push notification.

If your weekly availability says you're unavailable for that day and time but you don't have a conflicting assignment, you'll see an Availability Conflict popup with the option to Continue Anyway. That override applies only to that one request. It does not change your default availability.

For a full step-by-step walk-through, see our article on Self-requesting games.

Tips for Requesting Games

  • Check the Open Games section regularly for new opportunities

  • Request games early, as roles fill quickly

  • Be selective and only request games you're confident you can officiate

  • Review the competition level and ensure you're qualified before requesting

Don't Miss:

Post Game Reports

If you're the head official (primary referee), you'll need to submit a Post Game Report after each match. This important responsibility helps keep competition records accurate and provides valuable feedback to assignors.

Report Categories

You'll see your reports organized into five categories:

  • Due: Reports that need to be submitted

  • Flagged: Reports requiring assignor review (usually for incidents or unusual circumstances)

  • Needs Approval: Submitted reports awaiting assignor review

  • Approved: Reports that have been approved by your assignor

  • Archived: Completed reports stored for future reference

Submitting a Report

Click any game to open the reporting screen where you'll:

  • Confirm whether the game was completed or canceled

  • Enter team scores (if applicable)

  • Add comments about game conduct or notable incidents

  • Confirm attendance of your crew members

  • Report any cautions or send-offs (cards)

Once complete, click or tap Submit. Your report will move from "Due" to "Needs Approval."

Best Practices

  • Submit reports promptly – ideally within 24 hours of game completion

  • Be specific and objective in your comments

  • Include all required information, especially for games with incidents

  • Double-check crew attendance before submitting
