As you earn payments from officiating games you will start to find yourself spending more time in your My Wallet tab within your Notch dashboard. This article will walk you through some of the basics, for example, setting up your first payment method.
Payment types
Depending on the group competition, Notch offers two types of payment formats for paying officials: Notch Pay and Offline. These payment formats are selected by your assignor when they create the competition.
With Offline Pay you will receive your payments directly through your assignor or competition administrator outside of Notch, e.g., cash. However, you can still track your pay for games that have been approved in your wallet.
One important thing to know with offline payments: You will not see your payout balance raise in the wallet tab or profile dashboard when you officiate games with this payout method. This balance will only increase for competition games enrolled in "Notch Pay" as the payout format where payouts are issued electronically.
With Notch Pay your payments will be facilitated entirely through Notch. As your assignor approves the games you worked, the available payout amount seen in your digital wallet and dashboard will increase based on your payment transfers received.
You can track which games you have been paid for using the Transactions table in the My Wallet navigation tab in your dashboard.
Setting up payment accounts
When receiving payments using Notch Pay, you will have to set up a payment method in order to payout your funds from your wallet. You have the flexibility to link various types of bank accounts or debit cards for your Notch payouts. Supported options include traditional accounts offered by established financial institutions, including checking and savings accounts. Additionally, you can use virtual bank accounts such as N26, Revolut, Wise, and others. If you’re eligible, you can also use a debit card for instant payouts.
Notch offers two choices for Payment methods:
Bank Account (ACH Transfer)
Can either be savings or checking with an account and routing number.
Debit Card(s)
Pay direct-to-debit card.
When setting up your initial payment account you only need to select one of these two options. However, you are free to add multiple payment accounts just take note that your entire Notch wallet can only be paid out to one payment account at a time.
Adding your first payment method
Before you can request a payout and get paid your funds, you will need to set up your first payment method.
Go to the My Wallet navigation tab
Click or tap the Manage button
Select Add Payment Method.
When preforming instant payouts it is recommended to use a Debit Card as not all bank accounts are eligible for instant payouts. Alternatively, if you select 'Bank Account' you will have to enter in your bank account information.
Once you have made your decision simply click on either option that works best for you. A new screen will appear requesting the account information and once the required information is filled out the blue 'Continue' button will light up and allow you to continue like shown below.
Once your payment method has been added you should see among any other payment methods it when selecting 'Manage.' Your first payment method will always be added as your default method. You can update your default method or add and remove any payment methods any time.
Congrats! 🥳 You can now payout an available balance in your Notch wallet to your personal account.
