As you earn payments from officiating games you will start to find yourself spending more time in your "My Wallet" tab within your Notch profile. This article will walk you through some of the basics and walk you through linking your first payment method.

Types of payments

Depending on the group competition, Notch offers two types of payment formats for paying officials: Notch Pay and Offline. These payment formats are selected by your assignor when they create the competition.

With Offline Pay you will receive your payments directly through your assignor or competition administrator. However, you can still track your pay for closed games by selecting the "Offline" option under transactions in the wallet tab -

One important thing to know with offline payments is you will not see your payout balance raise in the wallet tab or profile dashboard when you officiate games with this payout method. This balance will only increase for competition games enrolled in "Notch Pay" as the payout format where payouts are issued electronically.

With Notch Pay your payments will be facilitated entirely through Notch. As your assignor approves the games you worked, the available payout amount seen in your digital wallet and dashboard will increase based on your payments received. If you need further detail, you can also track which games you have been paid for using the "Transactions" box on the "My Wallet" tab in your account.

Setting up payment accounts

If your assignor doesn't utilize Notch Pay you can skip this section. However, if your assignor does leverage Notch Pay you will have to set up a payment account in order to payout your funds from your Notch wallet.

Notch offers two choices for Payment accounts -

  1. ACH Payout (Bank Account)

    1. Can either be savings or checking with an account and routing number

  2. Instant Payout

    1. Pay direct-to-debit and/or supported credit cards from Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

When setting up your initial payment account you only need to select one of these two options. However, you are free to add multiple payment accounts just take note that your entire Notch wallet can only be paid out to one payment account at a time.

Your first payment method

When you go to the "My Wallet" page on your account for the first time you will see the payment methods are empty like shown above. To get started press the plus (+) or "Add New Payment Method" button as seen below -

A new popup will appear like shown below. As you can see you will have two options, 'ACH Payout' or 'Instant Payout.'

If you wish to use a credit/debit card as your payout format you will have to select the instant payout option. Please note while this option is much faster than a standard ACH payment you will be charged a 3% fee off your total wallet balance each time you payout or a minimum of $1.50.

Alternatively, if you select ACH payout you will have to enter in your bank account information. This payment method has no fees but can take 5-7 business days to show in your bank account.

Once you have made your decision simply click on either option that works best for you. A new screen will appear requesting the account information and once the required information is filled out the blue "Add" button will light up and allow you to continue like shown below -

Once your payment method has been added you should see it populate in the same "Payment Methods" section.

Congratulations! You can now payout your Notch balance to your personal account. If you ever wish to add another payment account to your profile you can select the plus (+) button in the upper right side of the payment method box on the wallet page.
