Why We Require a Proof of Address
Proof of Address is used to confirm your place of residence. Because of this, certain requirements must be met for your document to be considered valid.
Important: A bank statement without your address, or a bill that includes your address but not your name, is not considered a valid Proof of Address document.
Common Reasons for Rejection
If your Proof of Address document is rejected, you will be prompted to upload an alternative on the nsave app. The message you receive will usually include the reason for the rejection. Most often, rejections occur because the document:
Is not in your own name
Is not within the valid time frame
Must be dated within 3 months, or within 12 months for a rental or mortgage agreement.
Is not a valid document type
For example, personal letters or hand-written documents are not accepted.
Is unclear or incomplete
The document may be blurry, cropped, or missing key information (like your name, address, or date).
Does not match the address you provided when signing up
Is not from a regulated bank (if providing a bank statement)
Is for an address in a country we do not support
What Makes a Valid Proof of Address?
To ensure your document is accepted, make sure it meets the following criteria:

Displays your residential address clearly and matches the address registered with your nsave account.
Includes an issue date within the acceptable timeframe.
Is from a recognised and official source (e.g., utility company, regulated bank, government authority).
Is in a supported language (please check with our support if you’re unsure).
