To update to Firmware 4, you will need to interact with the new Handyfeeling, made with features that showcase our two devices, the Oh! and the Handy.
To be able to use some of the new features and use the Handy Onboarding app, you will need to update, so let's take a look on how to do so below
Please keep in mind that Firmware 4 is currently in Beta, as such issues are expected. If you face issues, please email contact@thehandy.com with as much information as you can gather regarding the issue.
How to update to Firmware 4
First, you need to visit new.handyfeeling.com as this new interface allows you to update the Handy to the newest version of the Firmware, you won't be able to get Firmware 4 on Handyverse app or the handyfeeling.com
Once there, you will be prompted to select which device you are using.
Select the I have the Handy.
You should now be seeing the main interface for the new and improved Handyfeeling, we will explore all this upgrade can do at a later time, for now use the Connect Device button on the top right to connect to your Handy via connection key.
Please make sure your Handy is able to connect online before trying to connect.
In this new window, you will be able to connect to the Handy via your Connection Key, input that in and click Connect.
It will now go through the process for connecting and once successful, the button on the top right will change to Connected.
Next, you can find the option Configure Device on the left side menu, select that option to continue.
Next, you should be able to see the Updates button as an option under the Updates section, select it to access the new update page.
When using non-beta Firmware, this is the page where you will be able to get the latest firmware to use. But because Firmware 4 is currently in Beta, we will need to use the Check for Beta versions button to find the update. Click on the button to proceed.
In this new page, you can see what version of the Firmware you are using and what other beta versions are available, find the newest one (Usually on the left) and select Install.
The process will now start, your Handy will start showing Yellow and White LEDs while the update is being installed, and the webpage will have a progress bar to follow.
Let the update install, once complete your device will restart and the webpage will also change to let you know it was successful.
And that's it, you are now participating in the Firmware 4 Beta!
